| Don't beat yourslef up. What happened to you could and probably has happened to many. Being sick gives us an excuse to eat wrong? I think we need to recongnize when we fail and get up and keep going. Don't kick youslef while you are down. Of course you are not a failure, you lost 10 pounds and know how so get back on the plan and take care of yourself. Don't buy those things that make you want to go off the plan. If icecream and bread are your triggers to go off plan just try not to have the kind you like in the house. My family eats that stuff every day, I am on day 6 find it hard once in a while, usually at least once a day want to eat some bread or chips. I am seeing the success on the scale and don't want to mess with that. I am waiting to add the healthy carbs and fruit, and practically counting the days. Remember you can do this and you did for the first 3 weeks, smile you learned a valuable lesson. Right?? |

I'm on the exact same boat as you. Except I've been messing up ever since Easter. I am having such a hard time getting back with the diet. But on Monday I'm going to try to start all over again. I'm going to throw all the bad stuff in my house away and just do phase one all over again. I know it will be hard, but I have to do it.
This diet works, you know that from the first 10 pounds that you lost and how good you felt when you were loosing that weight. It's all about sticking with it.
If you need someone to talk to and stay motivated with, e mail me at kgelsinger@hotmail.com or pm me. If I don't hear from you, good luck!! |

| Jenna, definitely don't beat yourself up for it. I am in the same boat, though I was not sick, I just slowly started eating more carbs (and not the good ones, but the bread, pasta & tortillas). Give yourself a couple days to get relaxed again, and motivated again. When I realized I had gained some weight back, I felt EXACLTY how you do now. I had decided to go back onto phase 1 to get my body and mind back into it. When I first made this decision, I was so scared to fail. I've had my breather period, and now am back on Phase 1 again. This is my 2nd day, and haven't cheated yet. Good luck, you can do it! :) |

Hi,
I'm in the same boat too. I lost 10 lbs in Phase 1, went away last weekend and gained 4 lbs!! I still have 2 to lose. I have started Phase 2 but have only reintroduced 2 fruits a day. I am discouraged as well but I'm not giving up. I have read that when some people start Phase 2 they don't lose but then it starts to come off again. I hope this is the case. I also haven't started exercising again so that is my next step.
Don't give up and take one day at a time. The diet does work and it sure makes me feel much better and more energetic.
Take care,
Lizzie |

Jenna-
You and I are totally in the same boat! I pretty much did the same thing. I was doing so well, and then suddenly I was back to my old ways. Granted, I only have about 10 lbs that I want to lose, I still kicked myself for having no will power. But today is a new day, and I am back at the beach...and this time its for the long haul. If you need a buddy to talk to, or to compare anything to, please feel free to find me at spammy1013@AOL.com. GOOD LUCK! :D |

| Hi. Sincerely sorry to hear of your discouragement. We've all gone throught that, I'm sure. I know I have. But this plan is easy to get back to. Just get back on that horse! Though it has been painful to eliminate my addictive, yummy carbs, it is FOR ONLY TWO WEEKS! (I am a pasta addict, and also really miss my fuit!) That mantra "just two weeks, just two weeks," is helping me get through the tough part. The weight is already coming off, and Phase two is looking good! The weight loss will slow, I am sure, but continue. In the on-line literature, read "Dieting Tips." They say that if you "screw up," don't beat yourself up, just get right back on the plan! I'm pulling for you! |

I am back on the plan, but one thing I have noticed is that after I have a fruit, it kind of makes me crave more sweet food. I only eat apples and pears. Anyone else find this happens? I really miss my chocolate, that's my real downfall and I have only had it once in 3 weeks!! I'm hoping my urge to eat it will lessen.
Some days are easier than other, today was a tough one. We went to Starbucks for coffee break today and those flavoured chilled drinks looked so good but I only had a iced latte but I sprinkled brown sugar on it.
Tomorrow is another day and hopefully I will lose some weight next week. I also weigh myself every day which I don't think is a good idea.
Take care,
Lizzie |

About frequent weighing, DON'T! It gets very discouraging to see the ups and downs. Once a week is best. I have been waiting to get on, and tomorrow is my official day. I hope to see a good number! Best to you.
