has anyone tried it?

Nope! SBD is the way for me!!! When I went on a ultra low fat diet in the early 90's, I gained about 6 pounds in 6 weeks. I was miserable! This is the first "diet" I've found that works for me and keeps me satisfied!

It's just another one of those starve-yourself-until-you-lose-weight-then-stop-and-gain-it-all-back diets.

It doesn't teach you anything about how to eat better long-term.

I was laughing about that diet just this week. You could lose weight eating two servings of Cocoa Krispies or Captain Krunch a day and one "sensible" meal! Have you ever noticed how small a serving a cereal is?

Diets like that should only be attempted by those who live alone. Can you imagine how ravenously hungry and bitchy you'd be if you tried that diet?!? Eat some Cap'n Crunch... have your blood sugar soar, then crash... then wait for your next bowl of cereal, only to have the same thing happen. Who needs it? I'm having bad flashbacks to all of my diets in the 80's that had me eating rice cakes.

Yep, me too, SoulLips! Rice cakes

I tried it once and about passed out at work. I had to go home at 3:00 because I was dizzy and tired. It's awful and I really can't believe they think people could do that for 2 weeks and that would be healthy.

I thought the same as Paula... one "serving" of cereal, twice a day IS starvation!

I tried it myself. The thing you all are forgetting is that it does allow you to have fruit.....a serving. So, if you space out the fruit between the cereals, then you can do it. Its not as bad as you are all making it out to be. Granted, one doesn't just have to eat Special K. It could be, in my opinion, any cereal or other item that has the same caloric intake as well as fat, etc.

Just my opinion... I'm reasonably sure that a good portion of my current weight is due to living a life of starvation diets from age 8 or 9 until I was in my mid-20's. My body is now very efficient at NOT burning calories. I was once on MediFast for 6 weeks (500 calories a day... doctor's appointments twice a week to make sure I wasn't actually dying)... I lost a total of 12 pounds... and this was WITHOUT any cheating. I am NEVER going back to that way of eating!

Aren't most "servings" of cereal around 1/2 to 3/4 C.?!? Except for Grape Nut's, which is 1/4 C.!! I think I'd be light as a feather and scary as Regan in the "Excorcist" movie if that was all I ate once ir twice a day.

I can't even imagine how sick I'd be of Special K after a day or two!

If you look at the list of cereals in the SB book, special K isn't allowed.

special k has no dietary fiber in it... if you're going to eat nothing but cereal for 2 meals for 2 weeks, they should at least have a cereal that has some bulk and just might hold you over.

I would be absolutely miserable by 8am doing that.

Special K actually has a new "low carb" cereal out. My hubby bought some the other day. 5 grams of fiber and a fair amount of protein as well as some fat. It isn't too bad, actually. I have had it for dinner for a couple nights this week, even though it does have some added sugar. It is fairly satisfying for cereal. I definitely would be very hungry if that was all I ate, and even though it is enriched with vitamins, it doesn't seem like it would give you all the nutrients you'd need.
