Went looking for the Chek book, and the store didn't have it. Got impatient and bought resistance bands and a book for them instead.

I'll let you know how it goes.

I've heard great reviews for TTAPP -- lots of strength training using your own body as resistance.

I get super jealous when I think about how relatively inexpensive running is, but then I pass some poor person going along at 8mph or something and the feeling subsides.

But that's a 7 1/2 minute mile........ don't feel sorry for that person! :P

No kidding! You can feel sorry for me, plodding along at something under 6 mph. But don't - I'm having fun, too. :D

Yeah, a Coloradan inside joke. I love Colorado. Today I climbed Shavano and Tabeguache.

Try your library, maybe they will have the Chek book.

I've found that they don't hurt - maybe it's the more fluid movement? - but they do work. I really like my stability ball too.

Well for what it's worth, I use prevention's website to get all the workouts I need. I have the same dumbells you have and I often do lunges, squats, deltoid raises, chest presses, push ups, crunches, dead lifts, lower ab exercises like reverse crunches, straight arm rows, butterfly curls, bicep curls, tricep extensions -
of course by now if you got that book you should be in business. I know prevention is geared toward women so you could easily be turned off by stuff like "lose belly fat" and "weight lifting after menopause," but if you can get past all that you'll find some good techniques on there.
If any of those moves sound wierd I may have said them wrong. Maybe do a google search on images to see if I got them right. Good luck!
