what's up?

I looked into a little bit on the web after a friend said she bought it and might try it. Have any of you tried it? How much can you lose in what time frame? Side affects that you personally experienced? Thanks for sharing.

Nope, I sure don't, just wanted to educate myself, since I didn't know much about it & thought I'd ask around, the more I know the more I can encourage this WOL, but thanks for your positive post!

You know what I find funny about the Alli commercials?

They say with it and a healthy diet you can drop 15 lbs in 6 months.

I dropped almost 19 in half the time-without Alli.

All depends how comfortable one and one's friends are with things like "soiled underwear."

For a HEALTHY natural alternative to ALLI go to your local GNC and get *now this is for women* Evening Primrose Oil...it helps your body naturally block cholesterol as well as help your liver rid the nasties out. It's not an over night remedy but over time you will feel better. 4-6 weeks. It will help you maintain. It also has great effect due to PMS and also w/your reproductive organs...so, if you are on this SB diet for a life long journey then go ahead and research natural weight loss remedies. Go to your GNC and talk to someone there...don't be sucked into the diet "pills" ask what natural vitamins can help you maintain a healthy weight while on a diet.

First of all, even the commercials have said that you need to "commit" to it -- you can't just try it and expect miracles. So I'm not sure why your friend would by it without being sure she'd use it.

If a pill worked, we'd all be skinny.

I can't imagine anyone using this awful product, unless they live alone and can run to the bathroom every minute.

I have actually tried Alli but I actually experienced the reverse (constipation) and so I was eating high fat just so I could see what the side effects were and they never happened for me.
So now I am back on South Beach again. I gotta get the refined products out of my system. I have lost about 50 pounds over the last 3 years doing South Beach and working out a lot..but I tend to backslide a little (holidays)...and gain back 5-10 pounds so anyway, SB seems the best for me and I eat so much better...Alli did nothing for me...maybe it would work in conjunction with SB...but it is expensive so I would say do not bother.

I do not want to ruffle any feathers because I know that people on this site are strong in their opinions but I am on alli and I love it, I have been on SB for three years and I would lose a pound every few weeks, Alli didn't "jump start" weight loss per say because i didn't lose fast, it helped me lose consistently. I lost 15lbs at first and ran out and couldn't afford it and on the time I was off it I only gained back a few pounds, mostly my fault. I do not think diet pills are an answer to weight loss but I spoke to my doctor and he explained how this is a safe alternative to the prescription and he is also the one who originally recommended SB to me so I think it is a personal and individual decision that should be discussed with a doctor and not on this site because it can be biased.

Did you ask your doctor what happens when you go off Alli and your body's fat absorption is no longer blocked?

Id rather lose slowly, naturally than take a drug. Doctors dont know everything, mine told me I should have gastric bypass. I trust my doctors about as far as I can throw them. My husbands doctor recommended sbd I spent over 2 weeks preparing and reading before I started it.

Then again I dont take a drug just because my doctor told me to. I will generally tell them let me think about it, then I go home and do my own research on that drug before allowing them to put me on it.

No offense intended but if you gained the weight back after you stopped taking it then it didnt work. It did not teach you proper eating habits. I took herbalife for a very short period when I was 19 or 20, yes I lost weight and as soon as I stopped taking it I gained it all back plus more. I learned then I wasnt really ready to make a commitment to do things right but I certainly wasnt going to keep wasting my money on something that doesnt teach me how to do things right.

guys I understand everything your saying and I was just offering another side of things, you guys get so defensive when you think your ideas are being challenge, and I gained 3lbs back out of 15lbs over the span of 6months and I have been on sb for three years its my WOL so I actually have healthy eating habits, I wish you guys would let other opinions to be offered with out attacking a persons character. and don't say no offence when you mean to offend. I stick to a lower fat diet so when I was off alli my fat didn't spike, I mean I research things too and my doctor was just another resource upon many I considered. all I am saying is my side of things and I fully understand your side of things. I feel you guys should be open minded to people who have other ways of approaching things.
