Why am I so hungry all the time? I'm on Day 5 of week two of P1, and I am just ravenous...all day, every day. I eat 6 times a day like I'm supposed to but I feel like I could be shoving something into my mouth every 5 minutes! Or an hour after dinner, I'm as hungry as if I never ate!
What is up with that? I lost 5 lbs the first week, and have GAINED 2 back this week. NOT A HAPPY GIRL!!!!!! |

Hi, I think if you are hungry all the time, maybe you are not eating enough during your meals? Have you tried increasing your veggie size? Add in another slice of cheese here and there? Or drinking more water? I think portion size has a lot to do with how active you are as well, so if you are very active, you might need more food than the phase 1 menu plans.
When I was on phase 1, and I followed the book, and ate EXACLTLY what it told me to eat, I was not a happy camper. I too felt hungry, but learned that if I just stick to the basic guidelines and eat til I'm satisfied, I did much better. For example, I NEVER have the veggie cups that the book lists, when I eat those, I get way to hungry before lunch, even with a snack. So, I just make my own veggie omlette with meat and cheese, using egg beaters.
Good luck, if you give more details of what you are eating, it'll give a better clue of what the rest of us do as tips or tricks to help you. Don't give up though! I felt that same way when I was on phase 1, and now 30 pounds later, I am still going strong. :-) |

I think htc is right about portions. Try increasing the amount of vegetables and lean protein you're eating. Also, are you trying to go too low-fat? Be sure you're using some good fats (e.g., from olive oil or nuts) - they'll help you feel full. You shouldn't be going around hungry.
Another thing - some people find that eating legumes (beans, dried peas, and lentils) helps keep them full longer. They're also cheap and very healthy. I posted a recipe on the recipe board under the title "Favorite Split Pea Soup recipe" - you might want to look at that. There are plenty of other good, filling recipes as well. |
