It took 10.5 months to lose 20, but I did it!

You "stick it out" when you realize that this is how you are going to eat for the rest of your lilfe unless you want to gain it back at some point. When you mentally get to the point that you realize there is no "end point" the moment at which you get to your desired "goal weight" becomes a bit less important. A nice thing for sure, but just another point in the process. FWIW, it took me 6 months to lose the last 5. Those last 10 just take time and patience and usually exercise combined with dietary management. Good luck!

Thanks everyone!!! :D I"m doing a great job maintaining and have actually decided I wouldn't mind losing a little bit more, so we will see how that goes!

Nygirl,

I did cheat occassionally. But my cheats were always planned in advance, like a vacation or my b-day. I never just decided, oh well, I'm feeling like eating this instead today. If I ever had a craving for something else, I just ignored it. If I was in a long stall, like more than 3 months, which happened several times, I would go back to Phase 1. That always seemed to kick start things back in motion.

But, really, Red is right. Once you realize that this is a WOL, then the goal isn't quite as important, just more of a motivational factor. Now that I have reached my goal, I'm certainly happy, but it isn't like I'm done. I am continuing on SB.

In addition, I had other health benefits that kept me motivated in addition to the weight loss. My stomach didn't hurt anymore and my acne cleared up a lot, so those things also helped me to realize that SB was worth it even if I never lost another pound. :D

Good luck!

CONGRATULATIONS. Your perseverence is really incredible, especially faced with 2lbs/month and 3 month stalls. Many people would have said to just chuck this WOL and go back to eating what they wanted.

Thank you for being such an inspiration!
