MINE DO.. I have tried three different pairs of tennis shoes and my feet fall asleep each and every time I am on the elliptical. Any thoughts on this?

Mine do, too! I've got about 3 different pairs of shoes I wear, and all three of them do it, so I don't think it has anything to do with the shoes. I do what Nessa suggested, and that usually helps for a bit.

It seemed to help today to concentrate a bit on my feet when I was on the machine:) I lifted them more and they fell asleep less....

Happens to me everytime. I end up bouncing around the different machines (when I do them) 10 min elliptical, 10 bike, 10 treadmill, etc....

I used to workout in cute Skechers rather than proper cross-trainers - my feet would always fall asleep on the elliptical. Since I have been more picky about my shoes, I have not had a problem. When I am home, I only wear socks on my elliptical and my feet don't fall asleep at all. It might be worth going into a proper sports store and having someone properly fit you for shoes.

I totally hear you - I hate doing the elyptical for the same reason.

You generally need a wider shoe for most machines and need to move your feet around a bit. My feet will take a nap if I don't pay attention on the stairmaster.

Also make sure you don't have them laced too tight.

Yep, wide shoes, stretch out the toes every so often. The nerves between the toes get pinched and irritated and you don't want to develop a neuroma. Trust me on that! Try moving so your weight is not always on the balls of your feet. I'm trying to move my right foot a little more forward on the pedal so the weight is not on the ball.
