| I use the Nike Triax C6. it cost a little over $100, but the features were just what I was looking for. It stores workouts, but most importantly it calculates your calories. I have used cheaper ones, and have been disappointed. there are also fancier ones, but I'm technologically challenged. The one feature I wish it had was not having a chestband, but it's no big deal getting used to it. |

I have the Polar F11, but it's fancy. I download my workouts and monitor my progress on a website. I know Polar makes lower end models too, here's the website with all the models:

Thank you all for your input. My DW told me we could get one from our airmiles rewards and it happens to be a timex. Can't beat not having to pay for it :D
