I just realized my acid reflux haspletely disappeared after being on the beach. I can eat Pace Picante Sauce (medium) and it doesn't even faze me. Yippee!
I couldn't eat chocolate, spicy foods, or tomato sauce without having to pop an acid reducer before hand. Zantac used to be my bestfriend. It's so great not having to deal with it._________________Walking Girl....42 years old....5'6"

Me Too !! I used to get the WORST burning in my throat it would choke me and make my eyes water.. I was taking Prilosec everyday. Now after just 5 days in P1, I have none of those symptoms.. it's great, isn't it?

Hi! I'm new to the boards. I've suffered from Acid Reflux for about 6 years now and since taking Protonix and having an endoscopy in January, I haven't had a single day of suffering, except for all three days that I've been on Phase 1 so far. Any ideas why?

princess - are you eating a lot of salad/raw veggies than before? I can't do the constant salad and I still have to be aware if GERD is creeping back. I do better with cooked veggies for the bulk and smaller salad. One thing that has helped me so far [day 6] is not having to think about what is next. I was getting so stresed and staying hungry on my previous attempts and it just flared up the heartburn. Knowing that I can go grab a cheese stick or jello [which I'm having now!] and making sure I ate something non-irritating at least every 2-3 hours lets me settle into a normal routine

Thanks DebbyC! I haven't been eating many salads but I also definitely have not been eating every 2 to 3 hours, so maybe that's my problem.

Another acid reflux free success story, here! I've been on the Beach for five days now and I have not popped Tums or chugged Maalox the entire time. I swear my new eating habits are helping with my arthritis and tension headaches, too.
I guess the old saying, "You are what you eat" is true. If you eat garbage, you feel like garbage and if you eat healthy you will be healthy! |
