Normally I don't have problems w/ water retention but ever since I did the triathlon last week I seem to be retaining a lot of fluid
I carb loaded for the tri as recommended by MANY sources. but went back to normal eating that night.
I have been working out harder than average and the weather has turned warm and humid since then so I was attributing it to that. But I feel it should be leveling out by now.
My ankles feel really tight and puffy as well as my calves and thighs
I can tell my arms are puffy but not near to the extent my legs are
I gained 3 lbs from Sat to Mon and the 3 lbs have not budged!
So what I am wondering is - is this normal? I have just started to try to run every day
And is there anything I can do about it?
here is what my training schedule was this week
Sunday - sprint triathlon 1:38:43 of swim bike run
Mon I ran/walked 4 miles and did an hour of muscle pump class (resistance training)
tue - i ran/walked 4 miles
We - ran/walked 4 miles, did an hour of muscle pump and rode 30 miles on my bike
thur was just run/walk 4 miles
Today - off day |

| I have not been in your exact situation, but I naturally retain water like a camel. For me, eating dishes loaded in raw parsley and drinking lots of water with fresh lemon really helps flush out the water. Good luck! I know how uncomfortable it is to retain water. |

Maybe you're my long lost twin or something! That cracked me up and described me to a "tee."
CC, you need to try to find that herbal supplement I mentioned. It really works. |

| It is terrible. I avoid salt as much as is healthy for fear that my shoes won't fit. Oh, and bad carbs, geez they flood my indoor water table. :D |
