OK- I'm going to start the diet on Monday, and I'll buy the book today. I have looked into it for a few weeks and think now is the right time to start. I'm trying out some of the food now, and I'm limiting my coke intake. For instance

Breakfast: 1 egg and 2 pieces of bacon(can of coke for a drink)
Snack: Low Fat Skim Milk Cheese Stick(water)
Lunch: McDonald's Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad w/ vinegar & oil dressing(water)

I'm extremely nervous about starting. I have never dieted before. My live-in boyfriend, Kirk, is extremely supportive. The major issue is that he is a naturally skinny fellow and he needs carbs to help him bulk up. THat is going to be my biggest challenge during the next 2 weeks. That and no ketcup-but I have seen people talking about a Heinz sugar free ketchup that is good.

Some of this should be a breeze, a lot of the foods on this diet is similar to what a diabetic eats. My mother is a diabetic, so growing up all we had was wheat bread and ate a lot of chicken. The hardest thing for me is bringing lunches to work. I'm going to try to make lunches for a week on Sunday and just freeze them. THe quiche looks good.

I guess we will see. I'm getting more nervous about buying the book, I guess that signifies I'm committed to doing this.
Until next time.............

faerielink's right, you CAN do this.
I remember back when I was much younger and had onlly 30 lbs to lose and everyone telling me
"do it now cuz when you get older it gets much harder to lose"
220 lbs later I look back and wish I had taken it off and kept it off. *sigh* :?

Just know that you have come across the right way to take off those pounds and keep them off.
This site is packed full of people that will encourage and support you every step of the way.

I'm glad you've taken that first step in your new lifestyle and just want to welcome you to the beach!

I bought the book last night and read it between commercials during the Friends Finale

It all made a lot of since and I was happy to realize that a lot of the food that I love are on the strict phase. I just usually eat them with a lot of carb-y sides. For instance I'd mix white rice with spinach or something like that.

I'm pretty gung ho about this, now, but I guess talk to me on day 3 or 4 and we will see.

Today, I am continuing to wean myself off of caffeine(I've quit cold turkey before and nearly died from withdrawal) and this morning someone bought donuts. I walked across the street and bought a bacon & egg taquito, but threw away the tortilla. Baby steps until Monday

As I sit here at work(today is a slow day) I realize how nutty I am.

I am makinga grocery list in excel about what foods I need to get, and where to get them(Big Lots has Spices lots cheaper than WalMart). I am also planning my phase1 week 1 meal plan, that way on Sunday I can make a lot of stuff and freeze it, or at least have them in containers for me to grab.

I also decided that with part of my tax return(whoo hoo first time I've ever gotten a large sum back)-I'm only 22 so most of the time I broke even. I'm buying a Cuisinart Processor. I've always wanted one, but always talked my self out of it. I'm buying i since I'll be making meals now!!!!

Thanks Faerie(by the way I love Faeries-have over 50 statues and 1 tattoo of them)

Even though I put Monday as my start date, I think today is pretty much day 1..
B-Egg and 2 pieces of bacon
S-Skim Cheese Stick
L-Chicken Caesar Salad w/Newman's Own Low Fat Basalmic Vinagrette
S-30 Pistachio's & 1 SF Hershey's w/Almonds
D-Found a yummy sounding recipe for Chicken Cordon Bleu on the other board I might try...

My live-in Boyfriend(Kirk) called asking if I wanted Pizza :( When I told him how good I was doing today, he volunteered to go to the store to pick up anything I needed for the SBD, while I'm at work. He's still in college, by the way, so he has the luxury to take time and shop. I thought that was sweet.

Last night I stopped by my mom's work and weighed myself(she has a scale at work) because I realized that I haven't weighted myself in quite a while(somewhere in 2003). Stepped on the scale, and no I am not 180, but 190.2!!!! That definitley got me determined!

So I full fledged started the diet TODAY!! That is 2 days before schedule.

B-2 egg omelette with 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese, 3 slices turkey bacon(thin cut), 1 raw tomatillo, and coffee with half/half & packet of splenda.

S-Hummus(made last night) and fresh cukes & tomatoes & water

L-Hamburger patty with American cheese & a tomato(I know not the best, but I drove from Corpus to Houston today)& water

S-15 pistachios and 1/2 of SF Hershey's Dark Chocolate(wasn't hungry) and 3 sips of Diet Sprite(which I think is ok-but let me know if not)

D-Oven-cooked Chicken breast, Sauteed Zucchini, Salad, and Decaf Tea(making it now)

S-will be a NSA Blue Bunny Fudgsicle.

Hope this is a good start. I am having headaches, I am assuming from total caffeine withdrawal. Let me know how I'm doing.

Day 2 Phase 1
Today is going to be hard because I'm at my brother's place and he has NO food. I did manage this for breakfast

B-2 egg omelette with skim mozarella, sauteed onions, 1 teaspoon of natural pb(brought with me)

I also boiled some eggs this morning, so that might be my snacks for today. Dinner is questionable since we are taking my mom out to eat at a restaurant(don't know which one)

I did find some neat mini bottles of tabasco sauce, so that should help. I was also super excited to find the Heinz 1 carb ketchup!! The local Walmart only had 2 bottles, so I bought them both(you never know).

OK- so yesterday's dinner ended up being a Jason's Deli California Club with Fat Free Mayonaise, Turkey, & Cheese with tomatoes, bean sprouts, and avocados.

Last night I made a whole tub of Mock Oatmeal, and had part of that as my snack. I brought the rest to work with me this morning. I figure I can leave it in the fridge at work in case I don't have a chance to eat breakfast at home.

So this will be Day 3 Phase 1
B-Mock Oatmeal & water
S-30 Pistachios
L-Chicken Caesar Salad(bought at Jason's Deli last night) water
S-Mozzarella Cheese Stick
D-Unknown.

I have more energy, but yesterday I crashed at about 3pm for a nap. I also think my stomach is somewhat slimmer.

^Obviously I didn't eat the croissant that the Sandwich was on. Just the good stuff. They have a lot of fat free items(mayo, meats, cheeses, sour cream) and instead of chips you can order steam veggies(had to pick out the carrots).

Also, they have trans-fat free bread, would this be good for Phase 2?

So here I am on day 3 and having a bit of a crisis. Someone brought in BBQ to work, including Pinto Beans. Now, in my book it says Pinto Beans are illegal, but I've seen some websites that state in the Good Fat Good Carbs book that they are ok. I would really like to much on some. I already ate my Chicken Caesar salad, but am thinking about those beans.

Also, I want something really sweet, and am thinking about eating some more of the Cinnamon/Vanilla Ricotta I made and brought to work. I had it for breakfast, but am thinking a spoonful might hit the craving.....not sure.
