I broke down & got on the scale this morning (day 4 of P1) and I had only lost 2 lbs. I thought surely I'd lost at least 4.

2 lbs in 4 days is great...

think about it... the average person loses 1-2 lbs per week!!

and remember... it all has to do with how much you have to lose...

those 8-13lbs in the first 2 weeks are just a bonus from changing the way your body eats and process its food... not everyone gets that bonus...but...most people are happy with the way they feel ..that they stick to it and still see amazing results...

so... try and remember how much you need to lose...and maybe... try not weighing yourself again until your 2 weeks are up....just stick to the program and pay attetion to how you feel...

Me too! Day 5 and I've yoyo'd up and down...so far have lost 3-4 lbs. I just don't get it. Hubbie lost 7-8 lbs!. I still feel like I'm holding a lot of water...have been reading the posts. Have decided maybe I'm eating too many nuts and too much cheese. Prbabaly a bad habit left over from the old days on Atkins.... I really felt lousy the first 3 days-weak and almost fainty. At least that has passed. No major cravings, so I guess that's also a blessing. Am so impressed by the kind responses and posts amongst the boards. I must admit I'm feeling a little down right now. Maybe this too, shall pass? Well, thanks for letting me vent...

I urge everyone to stick with SBD thought the "bad" times... or more accurately the disappointing times. Speaking for myself only... I've found that the size loss doesn't seem to sensibly match the numbers on the scale. Even when I've stalled out weight-wise, I've found that I was progressively able to fit into smaller clothes. Don't ask me why... because I don't understand the phenomenon!

:? I myself am disappointed in my weight loss in the first 14 days,P1.
I've lost 2 lbs WK1, 1.5lbs WK2. I've been very strick on P1. What's going on???? I'm not new to the diet world, but I do know this. While doing WW my average weight loss is 4lbs the first week. Sugar Buster's the same. So what's with SBD? 8-14lbs the first 14days?? I've re-read the diet to see if I missed something. I'm taking, Fish Oil, (1)capsule /day,this is the only difference I can see with the other diets. Could this slow weight loss? No Fruit, No Starches, min Fat. I'm eating nuts, pecans etc, but counting as per the diet. I'm going on with P2 today. Had Whole Wheat Bread w/1 TAB of PB. Has anyone else noticed such a "slow weight loss"?
I'm 44, Female have 30lbs to lose. Need some advice............

Did you come to SB straight from Sugar Busters?

No, I've not been strict on any diet in about 12 months. Sorta had been watching what I ate last summer. But, after gaining 15 lbs, which I mostly put on since September, I decided I was over my allowable limit I needed get back on some sort of diet. Couldn't fit in my clothes anymore.

If you're close to your ideal weight, it comes off slowly. It sounds like that's your situation. Just hang in there and keep at it--move on to p2-- and it will come off. You will also be improving your internal health-- cholesterol, cancer prevention, etc.

There are threads and threads about this exact topic. Look for the "Little Losers" who just want to take off 10-15 pounds.

Problem is now I need to lose 30lbs and not just the 15lbs I gained.
I was a little over weight at the first 15 and way over now w/30lbs to lose

According to my WW goal weight I should be 20lb lighter than I am now.
So I know I have at least 20lbs.

We would all like to find some magic diet to make all our excess weight go away...its not healthy to have sudden large amounts of weight loss...... those who lose a lot tend to be those who are severly overweight/Obese...

This is about changing a lifestyle, eating healthy, and as a bonus losing weight while doing it....... it sometimes makes me very frustrated to see people posting upset because the weight isnt magically coming off like the wish it would....How long did it take you to gain that weight? That should be an indicator of how long it takes to lose it.....

me... Ive been gaining steadily for years, so Im prepared for it to take years to come off....

I lost 5 lbs. my first week in Phase 1, ZERO in week two, and so I stayed on it another week. Up until yesterday I was ZERO in my 3rd week too! Talk about frstruated. Then Saturday morning I got up and was 4 lbs. lighter! :D I really think it's just about every body being different. I have a lot of weight to lose (a minimum of 50 more lbs.) but if I can continue this 3 lb a week average I'll be quite happy! I set a goal for 10 lbs. a month and it appears, assuming I lose a pound next week, that I will meet my first goal.

Just hang with it. I never believed that EVERYBODY would lose 8-14 lbs. in the two weeks of Phase 1. You just can't make blanket statements about people like that. Those with 10 lbs. to lose aren't going to drop weight that fast, and those who aren't heavy water retentioners aren't going to do so either. You lose at the pace YOUR body can handle. Just remember, any pound lost is far better than a pound gained!!!!

Started diet last week, lost two pounds immediately in two days (can't help myself but to weigh) then stalled for next three. I'm interested in seeing what happens tomorrow am as I had a drink (my boyfriend insisted, I needed to relax) and had about 6 little chocolate things today, hoping for the best but?????? If I'm not losing I know I'll feel awful, I can't possibly see the 8 pound loss they kind of promist, perhaps 5 but I feel like I"m killing myself for little. Lots of cooking, very expensive diet by the way.

Its costing me less than they way we were living before....buying food out almost every day.... I will prob save money on this diet.... and is your health worth an few extra dollars a month? It sure is to me!

Keep in mind that one pound of fat is roughly equivalent to 3,500 calories. So, just to lose 1 pounds a week requires a 500 calorie a day deficit! To lose 2 pounds per week requires that you either burn or take in fewer calories on average of 1,000 calories per day! That's no small feat!
