Is anyone else on phase 2, and having success?
I started phase 2 a week ago, and have really only introduced 2 glasses of Merlot with dinner. I had four strawberries on one day for a snack, but other than that I have not really changed from Phase 1. I have not lost anything.
In the diet plan for phase 2, Dr. Agaston has a lot of carbs back on a daily basis. I was only going to introduce one a day, but have hardly done that.
Is anyone else having difficulty losing weight on this phase?

| It went really sllloowwwwllllyyyyy for me too in P2 as well and took a good 2 weeks before I started making any progress past where I was at the end of P1. (I even went up a bit in between.) Now 2-3 weeks past that point I've been averaging a pound a week total. But I also find I have to eat more like P1 than I thought I would have to and pay attention to which carbs and how many per day. Keeping the wine though! Stay with it and experiment with different combinations of carbs/fruits and the other things you are adding. Maybe don't do them both on the same day or alternate a day on P2 with a day on P1 for a week and see what happens. Stay the course and I believe it will happen, it just is not as dramatic an effect as the first 2 weeks. Good luck! |

I have been in phase 2 for several weeks and am still losing a pound or two a week.
I eat at least one (some times two) fruits a day and either then one or two wheat type carbs. Somedays I have Uncle Sams and pasta. Somedays I have two slices of bread. Sometimes I have buckwheat pancakes and a pita. It just depends. I try to very my diet a lot.
If the only things you have added back is wine and four strawberrys you aren't really in phase two. I would suggest adding a fruit and a grain a day and see if that doesn't get you out of your rut. |

I will try adding more carbs and see if that changes things. Thank you for the encouragement and advice.

| Thanks for the info - this is encouraging to me too! I'm so frustrated w/my lack of P2 weight loss (and even a weight GAIN) that i even went totally off the diet today. :( Now I guess I'll have to start over on P1... |

| I wouldn't start phase one all over again just because you went off the diet for one day. Just get back on phase two like nothing ever happened. If you are having really bad cravings from your cheats then you might want to go back on phase one for a few days to get rid of them; but otherwise just move on. |

I'm on day 4 of P2, but I've only added back the red wine. I gained 2 the last 2 days of P1 without cheating one iota, and now I've lost those again and lost another .5. I'm just going to try to survive the weekend out of town and eating out, then come Monday, I think I'll add some black beans and see how it goes.

| Black Beans are a phase 1 food. Try adding fruit or a grain instead. |

| I needed to add back in more carbs in Phase 2 to fuel my workouts. Your body needs carbs in order to function. Glucose is the only fuel your brain can use, and the most most easily creates glucose from carbs. Yes, when required, the body can make glucose from fat, and even from protein, but it runs best when supplied with a sufficient amounts of carbs. Of course, those carbs should be complex and high in fibre. |

Hi All,
I have been on sbd for 60 days and I have lost 21 pounds. I am currently in Phase 2 and things are going well. I started out at 251 pounds and Im now 230 lbs. I have had some slow weeks with weight loss but in the past two weeks I have lost 3 lbs each week. I do excercise two times a week and some training in between. I study Martial Arts so the training and excercise are quite intense. My energy is quite high and I feel really good. I do not feel like Im on a diet its more like I have changed the way I eat. I must confess that I do miss my extra cheese pizza pie I enjoyed eating, now its pizza on a tortilla ricotta mozzerella and parmasian. So dont give up when you feel its not working 1 pound lost is 1 pound lost. Nothing is for free and you must work hard for it.
Take care the Pound Shedder :o :o |
