General idea is, No. At least not for any muscle group.
If you workout say, your bipceps, in the morning. You need to give them around 3 days to heal the micro-tears, to recover.
Hitting the same muscle group more frequently means that you're just tearing away at the muslces without giving them time to heal and thus build up.
More work, more pain, less results.
Technically you could 2x a day if say, you focused on different muscle groups in the morning and then different ones in the even. Nobody really does this though.
People who do 2 a day seem to split up based up cardio one time and strength the other.
Or two different types of not too heavy cardio.
Even so that is a relatively "advanced" technique and really anyone asking about it isn't yet really in understanding of the physiology going on.
So I guess while there are all sorts of technical "yes, you can do 2x a day" type responses, other than those with relatively "advanced" training technique, nobody really does.
General purpose advice is workout twice as hard the one time.
And then if you want to go for a walk or leisurely bike ride or something the other time, do that. But then that's more about fun than it is about "working out" isn't it.
I'm sure others differ in various ways on this one but this is my general experience and understanding. |
