Hi i want to start running but i wobble.

I got below goal but put on 14 lbs again   :(

I dont want encourage stretch marks by running and wobbling and therefore stressing the skin.

I feel like i should wear a bodystocking to hold it all in!!

How do you guys deal with this?

Lisa, just run..... :D (it won't cause stretch marks...)
the "wobble" will soon be gone!

maybe a big part of it is that i hate the feeling...it is quite uncomfortable.

I love the idea of being a runner but it never happens....it is difficult but it is up to me to get moving...baby steps.

Why don't you come visit us in the Couch to 5K thread? It's a beginning runner's program and there are a lot of people posting there; some who are doing the program and some who have graduated. If I can start at 51 years old and a lifelong couch potato, anyone can!

Absolutely Lisa, check out Couch to 5K! It works you up to running... starting out with short segments of jogging with walking in between, and moving up from there! It's fantastic, you'll love it :)

Yeah, and how come I still have these love handles?

Well maybe you're just really, incredibly lovable!

Or just too dang fat to get rid of them.

Somehow, I just can't picture you as "too dang fat."

Thu Jun 14, 2007 4:28 am

PapaBanucci

But I do have to much body fat to completely get rid of my love handles. Just not willing to "do what it takes."

It's all relative.

PapaBanucci

Indeed it is.

As is the question, why not just accept myself the way I am...

If you're not willing to do what it takes, you should learn accept yourself the way you are. If you can't learn to accept yourself the way you are, you should get on with doing what it takes to lose it. No point in waffling about feeling as though you should be doing something and feeling bad because you aren't.

So simple in theory, so difficult to put into practice.

What do you mean? It's what we put into practice with every bite, with every step.
