So I just got diagnosed with them. Again. Hasn't happened since I was in the army. I've been working out doing light weights and Yoga, but recently started upping my cardio with the game Dance Dance Revolution. Since I started playing I got hit with the fractures, and now I don't have much I can do for cardio until they're healed again. Any ideas what some good cardio exercises would be for someone who can't be on their feet for more than 15 minutes at a time for the next few weeks?

if you have access to a pool, swimming shouldn't stress these i don't think. if you belong to a gym, the elliptical machine is also more gentle [non-impact].

Unless you've been released by your doc for some type of exercise (or physical therapy).... you really shouldn't do any type of exercise where you are bearing your weight on your legs.

Yeah, I know a soccer player/swimmer and when she had stress fractures, the swimming was just as painful and being on her feet. Water provides more resistance than you might think.

Nessa, that news would have been enough to put my former self off of treadmilling...but not now! I love my treadmill, and that's the story I'm sticking too!

Yeah I had them before, and couldn't even do sit ups. But there's got to be something out there, so I'm searching all over the net I don't want to set back my diet when things are going well with the combo of diet and exercise.

My advice, bite the bullet and rest it. I didn't a year+ ago when I had surgery. I went back too soon and hurt my exercise program for 6 months! A month off is hard but better than 6 months at a reduce pace.
