June Challenge Week 2: General A-Rod's "A" Squad!

A-Rod      

Hey Team! Please post your results HERE as well as your goals for next week. If everyone can please post the results TODAY, I'll get them tallied up! You can follow the format I used below for ease:

REQUIREMENTS:
Cardio: 4 workouts @ 5 points each = 20 points
Strength: 2 workouts @ 5 points each = 10 points
Water: 5/7 days @ 2 points each = 10 points
Goals: Met 0/3 goals @ 5 points each = 0 points
TOTAL REQUIREMENT POINTS: 40 POINTS

BONUSES:
Ran more than scheduled on Monday: 2 points
Ran with super bad breathing on Thursday: 2 points
Ran more than scheduled on Thursday: 2 points
Increased 5K time on Thursday: 2 points
Ran farther than EVER on Thursday: 2 points
90 min workout on Thursday: 5 points
Ran more than scheduled on Saturday: 2 points
Exceeded normal long loop and kept going on Saturday: 2 points
TOTAL BONUS POINTS: 19 POINTS

TOTAL POINTS: 59

WEEK TWO GOALS:
1. Stick to training schedule 7/7 days!
2. Stretch before and after each workout - no exceptions!
3. Eat clean, allowing one treat meal and two small treats.

I already posted this in the week 1 thread... but I'll repost here to make things easier for you. :D

So... here's the results for week 1 -

Requirements:
Cardio: 4 workouts @ 5 points each = 20 points
Strength: 2 workouts @ 5 points each = 10 points
Water: 7/7 @ 2 points each = 14 points
Goals: 2/3 @ 5 points each = 10 points

Bonuses:
1) Push-it bonus: 2 points
2) New exercise: 2 points

Total points for the week: 58 points

Goals for next week:
1) Stretching - 15 minutes, 3 days
2) 1 cardio workout will be running/jogging
3) 3 liters of water (vs. the required 2) 5/7 days. (This has been helping, so I'll stick with it).

Phase 1 eating (still have the rest of today and tomorrow, but at this point, it's easy) = 5
Increase push-ups to 18 each session = 5 (I did this with every Strength workout)
Go for walk with DH and baby (30mins) = 5 (Last night, before the storm hit)
Water consumption, about 3 litres a day = 14

BONUSES:
90 minute workout on Sunday = 5 point bonus
TOTAL BONUS POINTS: 5 POINTS

WEEKLY TOTAL: 45 POINTS

Week OF JUNE 11-17 GOALS:
1. Try two new recipes
2. Exercise outside at least once
3. One exercise will not be running/jogging.

Increased intensity of step workout by adding hand weights = 2 points

TOTAL POINTS THIS WEEK: 70

Goals for the week of June 11-17:
#1: Eat cleanly 6/7 of week.
#2: No eating after 6:30 p.m.
#3: Limit my coffee to 3 cups/day. (yikes! what have I done?)

Push it bonus for finishing up 90 min walk doing hills. +2

TOTAL BONUS POINTS: 14

TOTAL POINTS FOR WEEK 68

WEEK 2 GOALS
1. Do back stretches at least 1 a day.
2. Cut back on nuts to only 2 this week.
3. Cut back on salt intake.

WEEK TWO GOALS:
1. Try a new/different food
2. Stretch each morning and evening
3. Make my famous lasagna (for weeks i'm dying to eat my ownmade lasagna but i'm just too tired and lazy when I get home and don't want to cook so this week, yeah THIS week i'm gonna make my famous recipe :)

so i know we are all busy posting our results, but how's everyone doing?! you all survived week one okay?

i have to say, this challenge has helped me IMMENSELY in my first week of training. i'm struggling with some health obstacles, but in the face of those i'm running better than i ever have before. i feel confident about being in shape for this race and it's feeling GREAT to push myself so much! i can't believe i'm already running 5 miles after just two weeks of training - i just hope i keep improving at this rate!

that said, i had a really crappy run today - breathing was FINALLY good and of course, my legs feel like hell. shins started up hurting again, calves were really tight ... just generally unpleasant. so i did a quick 3.5 and scored a bonus for running up the ENTIRE big, mean hill - i really have to be in shape for hills for this race or they're gonna take it all out of me.

you guys are all champs! GO A-TEAM!!

I'll post my results in an hour or so (still at work!). I couldn't open up the forum yesterday. I think it might have been on my end though.


And my new goals for this week are...

1.) 3 days of Carmen Electra workout DVDS
2.) Getting enough rest so I don't rely on caffeine drinks during the day
3.) Continue with my daily stretching routine (twice a day for 10 minutes each)

Sorry General! I'm glad I peeked back too, because I found a mistake and I actually had more points than I thought!

Monday

water: didn't make it
bonus: 5 points for additional evening power walk

Tuesday

Total: 94 points! Hey, working out every day and sometimes multiple times pays off big time!
