over exercising the abs?

Another question while I'm at it - so with these variations (stability ball, added weight, fewer reps/sets), does this become the type of strength training that can't be done daily because your muscles need to recover?

From what I've heard (which of course is not necessarily right!), abdominal muscles can be worked out every day, since they are core muscles that are in constant use anyway... how true is that?

I don't think I worded that all very well, but hopefully the main idea is clear, and any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks!

yeah, your core gets used all day every day, just like any other muscle. no, you should not do resistance work on your core every day. your muscles need time to recover. muscles do not get stronger (etc) from the exercise. they get stronger from the rest. you need to rest.
