Does anyone have a problem with all whole grain products, especially those containing all forms of bran? I want to start this diet but cannot eat anything with whole grains and would like ideas on what other people have done. I have Type II diabetes and well and know I have to be very careful with everything I eat. I also can't have any artificial sweeteners at all and that can cause a problem with sugar-free items.
Any advice would be appreciated.

what do you mean by all whole grain?
do you mean bread products?
I rarely eat bread or rolls.
my starch grains are usually sweet potato or quiona... maybe brown rice now and then.... |

I can't eat any whole grains, bran or most foods that contain fiber. I have a food intolerance to anything that would contain the bran, such as oat bran, corn bran, rice bran (including brown rice), etc.
Thanks for replying.

| When you say, most foods that contain fiber, what, exactly do you mean? Do you mean just grains that have bran? Or do you mean any fiber? |

It sounds like bran (the outside "jacket" of a whole grain) might inherently contain an allergen or something-- interesting. So that would make quinoa (pronounced keen-wah and spelled quinoa, NOT quiona, lol) out, too.
Yes, it does look like you'd need to go with the starchy veggies for your grain/starch. And maybe see your doctor about B vitamin supplements. |
