Sometimes I climb the stairs in my 10 story building- usually I aim for 100 flights. Is this a good way to train for trail running (which I am trying to get into right now)?
I am also walking/jogging trails around my apartment- so far I'm able to do 4-5 miles at a time in about 75 minutes. Hoping to be able to complete a 10k (on flat pavement) in 60 minutes by the end of summer. So I am also walking/jogging 5 miles in about 75 minutes right now.
I want to stair climb 3 times a week, and complete 3 runs a week (2 trail and a pavement or 2 pavement and a trail). Is my goal of completing a 10k in 60 minutes reasonable, given that I am young (23), recently quit smoking and trying to get in better shape? |
