Cortisone

I have been away from the board for about 2 years now. I kept the weight off except for 2 pounds that I gained when I tried to quit smoking. I dislocated my left shoulder and torn the tendon in my right arm. I wasn't able to use either arm. I finally got fed up and told the doctor I wanted a cortisone shot. The first one was for the left shoulder. Wow. What an improvment. Then I went back to the doctor about 3 weeks later and got one for my right arm. The doctor didn't say anything to me about staying away from salt. Roughly 2 weeks after my second injection another doctor told me to stay way from salt but I really didn't fully understand him. (Language problem... my Turkish is not as good as I need it to be and he doesn't know English). Now I am back at the beach in P1 to lose the extra weight before it becomes a problem again. The problem is... nothing is changing. As a matter of fact the scale shows me up 2 more pounds. How long will the effects of the cortisone (weight gain etc ) continue? I don't want to balloon up again.
