| I'm back, day 3 of P1. I started January 9, did two months, got sick, thought it was the diet but it was actually a problem with Lipitor, took a couple of months to get well again and am back at it. I am finding it actually easier this time because I know what to do to avoid the flu and don't feel so deprived. I am determined to make it this time, doing lots of reading on the boards to help. My big inspiration is this guy beerbelly, seeing how he was so determined, didn't cheat, didn't make excuses, he just followed the plan. And, he made it. I admire that a whole lot and now that is my goal, be beerbelly, get there because I can do it if I put my mind to it. |

| I have started again. I am 1 week into P1. I have gained 2 pounds in P1.I think its because of my cortisone injections (read my post in the health section). I lost 13 pounds last time but gained back 2 after an unsuccessful attempt to quit smoking (I will try again this summer) so I am up a total of 4 pounds. This time my hubby has joined me and he has lost a whopping 8 pounds already and hes not really that over weight. |

| Most guys seem to lose easier, but probably not all. Maybe if you post your menu someone can help tweak it. So you gained two, probably cortisone doesn't help, but P1 isn't about the pounds anyway, it is about getting a handle on the cravings, so if you don't lose anything in those two weeks, that's okay, as long as the cravings are under control. First time I lost 12.5 in P1 but in six weeks of P2 only lost 5. Maybe your big loss comes in P2. Just keep plugging away. |

Second timer here as well. I was doing so well on SBD 2 years ago but fell off the wagon (one donut at a time). Here I am two years later trying to relose the 70+ I had lost...and I have more to go after that (started end of March this year).
So to all the second timers, may this be the LAST time we have to jump back onto the beach  |

Hi all! I am back on the Beach today too! I was on the beach back in May 05' but slowly went off of it because I got pregant with my second child. She is now 14 months old and we are finally getting some sleep so I decided it was about time I got back on the WAGON!
So far so good today but I know Phase 1 will be hard the first few days... looking forward to going into Phase 2 and seeing some movement on the scale for motivation.
I hope everyone is doing well their first week back. I know I will continue to use this website for support.
Talk to you all soon. |

| Last year at this time, I had dropped 40#s on SB. When school started (I'm a teacher) a few lbs started appearing. I'm now 12# heavier and ready to get back on the wagon. The problem I'm having is this....I also got back on my running program. I run about 15-20 miles/week. Phase 1 is totally zapping my energy. I know I need it to flush out the junk and cravings, but what do I use for energy?? If I skip to Phase II, will my system and blood levels be what they should....and will the cravings go away? I'm not a 'young chick'....I'm 60, so I don't want to wreck my body. What I want is to stay fit and healthy. Losing those 40#s was the first time I've ever succeeded the RIGHT WAY...healthy eating and exercising. I just need help and encouragement getting back on track before school resumes at the end of August. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. :) |

| This time I started with taking vitamins before going back into P1. I'm taking Ester C vitamin C, B complex, omega 3, coEnzyme Q10 and vitamin E. I'm doing it specifically to rebuild after some medical issues, but I understand lots of people take a multi vitamin on South Beach. I notice the difference this time in P1 with not experiencing cold hands and feet and not having as much lag in energy. Oh, sorry, also I have added two glasses of skim milk at snack time. Feel much better now with the extra dairy. Good luck. |

| I just started again. I started the first time on Jan. 1st 2006 and did great and lost 50 lbs. and was even good over the summer and traveling. Right around the holidays is when I fell off the wagon little by little. But I am back and better than ever I'm more committed than the last time, I know it works and i know what to do I just need to wake up everyday and say I'm doing this for me and I'm worth it. I know i will make my goal this time. I have even started to run part of my 4 miles I'm committed. |

| TGIF!! I've had a great week on my re-start, I'm happy to report! I look forward to getting to P2 in less than 10 days, and adding a piece or two of fruit to my day. As of yesterday, I feel that the dreaded cravings have left me. Thank you, Jesus!!!! I'm keeping busy; and I must say, the exercise does help greatly. For each day I 'get by', my reserve gets stronger and stronger. One cookie is certainly not worth days of being strong and eating right. I know in my heart that once I am in my healthy range, I can choose (or choose not) to have an occasional cookie or bite of sweets. That is what is so great about this WOE....you never say good-bye FOREVER to any food. You just find that you don't NEED those foods to get thru the day! Keep it up girls!! WE CAN DO IT!! Have a great and successful weekend!! :D |
