I stand corrected on the posting issue.
It's just after 7 pm, I've met my water goal and posted my food on Spark people. Now if I can just refrain from eating after 8, I will meet all my goals. In addition, I got 60 minutes walk/run (40/20) today. So that is good.
Welcome valkm...you go girl
Salmon
Good job salmonlady...I got my water in also and did my cardio and an extra set when I got home-so total of about 55 minutes. I love to walk so not a problem for me. I never even thought of making goal my cut off time of not eating after certain time. That is what I will do next week. cause lately I have been more tempted to do so...thanks for idea.
WELCOME VALKM!! |

Hello team, I am ready for day two. I didn't get my exercise in yesterday because I had a houseful of guests and by the time they left I was exhausted. As soon as the baby goes down for a nap I am going to get my cardio in. I am so excited about this challenge!
Go Movin Meetoos!!! |

Morning Teammates! Day #1 was 100% for me! Eating on plan; all my water and 30 minutes cardio! Off to a good start! Scale rewarded me this AM by matching my sigline! (It's been known to hang one pound over just taunting me) :P
Hope you all have a great SB day! RJ |

hey guys! just a general reminder to everyone that challenge REQUIREMENTS cannot be part of your general goals. since drinking water is part of a requirement, you can't make it a goal to drink your water every day, for example [for some reason, many of you have made this one of your weekly goals!]. same goes for bonus point things - you wouldn't be able to make it a goal to do a 90-minute workout on saturday, because you'd also get a bonus for doing that.
does that make sense? please feel free to PM me if any of you have questions about anything ... |

hey guys ... to add to the last reply there, i posted this for my team and thought it might help you all:
A-Rod wrote: to add to this last reply, i did a quick scan of our team's goals ... i know this can be a little confusing at first, but to reiterate, we all need to make sure that our goals [which earn us 5 points each if we achieve them for the week] can't be things that you'd get points for because they're a requirement or a bonus.
some examples i saw of goals that would be double-counted:
- exercise 5/7 days [you'd already get bonus points for the extra day of exercise, so 5 extra points for the goal would double count]
- do an extra ___ workout once this week [you'd already get a bonus point if it's an extra workout ...]
- drink all my water this week [again, you get points for every day you drink your water]
- try harder at ___ [you'd get bonus points for increasing your intensity for a workout already]
things that i think DO work are giving yourself specific activity goals ... example, i am an avid spinner but running [historically] has been awful and painful for me. if i wasn't doing this training program, i might make it a goal to run twice a week, since that is HARDER for me than spinning and thus more of a challenge. so to give yourself a goal of incorporating a certain type of workout that is challenging to you or provides you with additional variety, that is excellent as a goal.
ladyvenom mentioned stretching as a goal - that's a great example of something we should all do but if you're like me, you're lazy or you forget. making it a goal to stretch daily or 5x/week or whatever is great if that's something that you need to do.
for me, i made it a goal to stick to my training schedule all 7 days out of the week ... yes, i'd get points for completing the workout, but i could slack off on my schedule [run 2 mi instead of 3 mi] and still get all my exercise requirements done. so that doesn't double-count ... make sense?
i hope this clarifies a bit ... if you can all give your goals a quick review to make sure that none of them are things you'd already get requirement or bonus points for by virtue of doing them, that'd be great! |

Wow this is challenging! Just what I really needed - I had gotten
so complacent. If I missed a veggie or fruit serving - eh so what.
Cannot get in any water today and prefer coffee? Ya, have 4 cuppas
and sip lightly on the water.
Stretching was something I did maybe once a week at best.
As I mention cardio was virtually gone (but not wt. training).
So, all these great new habits, goals and challenges are really making
me realize I had let my health program slide a bit. Just a catch here,
catch there sort of thing and did sort of good.
Now I wake up and start thinking prorities: Where are my bottles of
water? Are the veggies prepared? Any beans or lean protein?
Can I squeeze in a wt. workout before leaving house? Am I pulling
in my stomach during the day? Hey, when I get home I have to
do either some stretching or cardio or wts. Watch it there is a refined
carb or sugar in that dish - proceed with caution.
The above listed thoughts have not been with me for a while! This
challenge has done this. This is fantastic. And could it be my tummy
is already flatter and my posture better and I feel purified by all the
water I am drinking?
Go Meemos!!! Definitely the best Teemos! |

Hey Meetoos!
I'm TOTALLY in, don't worry!!
I haven't been on the boards much in the last few weeks (still haven't updated points from the last Challenge! argghhhha), but I will try to be on at least SOMEWHAT more often for this Challenge!
I need to reread all the rules and new rules and whatnot for this Challenge, but I am pretty sure I'm off to a great start! Yesterday I ran for 2 miles in the morning and went to YOGA CLASS (my first one ever!) in the evening. Then today I did strength machines at the gym. Tomorrow it's more running and more yoga... I have most of the week all planned out. I just have to check and make sure it all fits into the plan of this challenge, tweak as necessary and then I'll post more details!
So I'm off to do some reading, but I just wanted to check in!! |
