Hey everybody - I'm ready to go!

Goals for the first week:

1. Not miss any workouts
2. Get to bed at a reasonable hour every night
3. Clean eating (P1)

My DH is dieting with me this time around along with his entire office. One of their co-workers just had a heart attack at age 45. Her brother was killed in a car wreck and she had a heart attack after hearing the news, so her entire office is going on a diet to support her. We have all put up $20 and whoever loses the greatest percentage of body weight by the end of June wins the pot. So, that's a little more motivation for me!

Hey all-
Just had my tonsils and adnoids removed, plus my turbinates trimmed (extremely painful) yesterday, because the surgeon had a cancelation and that's when I could get in. I'm not supposed to do any major exercising for two weeks, but I'm feeling a lot better and think I'll be able to meet the challenge requirements by monday.
I'll take it easy for the next couple of days and should be fine.
Meanwhile, I'm subsisting on scrambled eggs, mushed garbonzo beans, popsicles and jello since I'm still in phase 1! I told myself I could go to phase two if there was nothing cold and soft I could eat, but I'm doing pretty well!

YIKES! best for a speedy recovery!

you know, most people would see that as an excuse to avoid exercise ... good for you for wanting to do it anyway. could be this program is good for you, just to motivate you to get out and do something lightly active 5 days a week. may help to avoid packing on a few extra pounds from being in recovery [though sounds like you can't eat much, so maybe that's not a worry ...].

Hi Swim,

I second everything A-Rod said. Good for you for not using your surgery for an excuse to fall back into old habits. I know that would be a powerful urge for me that would be hard to resist, so I really admire your determination.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!! :D

Drippin' fat, we'll
squash them flat.
Loosin' our joints
take all the points!
Forward we advance
no one else has a chance.
Try as they might
they don't have our spite!
Together as a team
let's get good and lean!
Okay, corny. But I'm just trying to get into the spirit!
By the end of this we'll be fit and rich! (In points, that is)

Swim - feel better soon.

vickil - sorry about your co-worker, but how great that your office is supporting her efforts to get healthy! You will be GREAT for our team with points! 8)

Somehow the shear number of points and bonuses has my head spinning. Hope I dont goof up. Anyway - here's my three goals for week 1.

1. Eat SB 100% clean for at least 5 out of 7 days.

2. Eat at least one piece of fruit 5 out of 7 days. I don't like many fruits so don't always eat them. This will be difficult for me; but a good thing.

3. Track my calories at least 2 days - this will help me see exactly where I am now and hopefully show me if I will/can drop pounds at my current level of eating and exercise.

Looking forward to Monday! Let's show the other teams HOW!

Also, in honor of our fearless leader, I suggest the Meetoos for our team name.

Monday - normally a slow morning for me, but today I'm going to PUMP IT UP! and get in 30 minutes of cardio before work. I know me - and if I don't push myself the first week and stay near the front of the group in points - I lose my motivation trying to play catch up. :? But that's just me.

My weight today was 168.5 - but I'm somewhat dehydrated from my long weekend at horse shows with no time for water or bathroom breaks. :? Today I will drink lots of water and see what happens.

ONward team - I'm cool with any name! Movin Meetoos? fine with me.
