So, as soon as I stepped outside, it started sprinkling. So, instead of giving up, I went right down to the basement and did a 30 minute cardio workout (thank goodness for exercise TV on demand), did 10 minutes of abs on my own, AND did 15 minutes of stretching. I'm giving myself a 2 point push-it bonus for that one because I really just wanted to sit and watch TV, but I forced myself to do the stretching.

I'm definitely glad we have this workout to keep us motivated. :D

Okay, so I think this is how my points are shaping up for this week.

Strength- 3x 45 mins.= 12
Cardio workout 3x 45 = 15
Elliptical workout 1x 30 mins = 5
Elliptical workout 45 mins + 30 minute walk = 5
Phase 1 eating (still have the rest of today and tomorrow, but at this point, it's easy) = 5
Increase push-ups to 18 each session = 5 (I did this with every Strength workout)
Go for walk with DH and baby (30mins) = 5 (Last night, before the storm hit)
Water consumption, about 3 litres a day = 14
------------------------------------------------------
Total points for the week (will update on Monday morning if I didn't drink my water or do tomorrow's Cardio workout
66 points!

A-Rod, let me know if this is wrong.

BTW- Through the power vested in me by the minister of SB, I hereby assign honorary Canadian status to A-Rod and Barb - you are now part of the "politest people in the world" club!

Welcome!

Wow I gotta tell you ladies I am so proud of myself today! (Yesterday not so good food wise  ) But today I did a 90 minute walk and it felt great!!!! I just got out of the car from checking the mileage, the part I could drive was 3.3 mile and then I walked around the lake which is about 1 1/2 miles so I walked almost 5 miles!!! :D Yea me! That is about an 18 minute mile not to bad considering the first 2 mile are alot of hills. And I'm giving myself the push it bonus, cuz when I was almost home I still had 10 minutes to go and instead of chosing to walk some flat area I did another hill!!! I feel good! , but probably don't smell so good so I better fly off to the showers and get started with the rest of my day. I really need to sit down and add up some points to. Any boy have a great spread sheet or something they use? And how did you do it?

thank you, ftanya!! i think you'll be pleased - i even understand the proper usage of the word "eh" ... i love canada more than i can say. every trip there has been crazy and amazing ...

GREAT TOOL for those who run/walk: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com ... it lets you track running/walking routes [i use it to plan in advance] and has all the nature stuff like lakes/parks in there too. also does an elevation map and calorie counter [though a very rough estimate].

well, i just loaded up some new tunes and i'm gonna hit the streets. don't know if another 5-miler will happen but i'd be pleased with 4 today.

5 pts for cardio workout
2 pts for doing the "longer than scheduled" loop
2 more pts for finishing that loop, running PAST MY HOUSE and keepin' on runnin' ...

gonna do some strength stuff later, and i will get all my water for a grand total of 16 for today. zing!

I'm trying to get this point system down so I can help my team with the scoring. Did you change the bonus strength training sessions to 5 points? I've been telling my team the required two get 5 points and the bonus strength training sessions get 2 points. Also I think it would be a lot easier to just give one "pushing it" bonus to each workout session. In my mind, you either "pushed it" in some way or you didn't. What are your thoughts?

Way to go A-rod!!! and thanks for that site. It is really cool I will have to spend some time figuring out how to use it.

I don't know if your asking me :D but I'm with you it seems to me one push it bonus is all that should be allowed for each session.

A-Rod

as someone who pushes themself HARD in their workouts, i think multiple bonus points per workout are a good thing. i've had some workouts this week where i could've stopped ... kept going ... could've ended there and congratulated myself ... worked HARDER ... i think i earned those points. and those multiple challenges are paying off, because my fitness is increasing SO FAST, and the weight drops with it.

ultimately, the rules say it's at your own discretion to award yourself bonus points ... if you're really working hard, you should reward yourself for it.

AND THAT SAID, here are my points for this week! i worked my butt off in spite of an inhibiting health issue and my goodness is it paying off ... i've already exceeded my running goal that's still three weeks out!

REQUIREMENTS:
Cardio: 4 workouts @ 5 points each = 20 points
