| I was not having any, not because of headaches, but because I wanted a cup of real coffee. No sugar, No flour, I needed something. I have one cup of regular a day, maybe two then the rest decaf tea. Has it increased your appetite? Any problems staying on track with one cup a day? Thanks for the feedbacks. |

| I drank coffee all through phase one. Coffee doesn't make me hungry - it actually makes me less hungry. If I have a cup of coffee in the morning I could go till lunch time with out eating. So, I only have my coffee after breakfast now. |

| I drink a travel mug full each morning. No sugar or cream. It also curbs my hunger just a bit even though I always have breakfast and cashews for a mid-morning snack. Doesn't seem to have any impact on my weight loss. |

I tried quitting coffee my first day on the diet.... wow, what a horrible day!!!! headaches, no energy... so even though I'd heard that caffiene can give you sugar cravings, I decided to fight those as they came instead of giving up my coffee ;)
Anyways, I haven't noticed any problems drinking coffee... I've been losing pretty steadily, haven't noticed any particular cravings, and I agree with the earlier posters: I think it decreases my appetite :)

I gave it up for 1 week just to prove I could, then added it back the following week. I lost more the week I drank it than I did week 1.

Hi,
I continued to drink about 3 cups of coffee a day with a little cream and I would also have a latte with no fat milk some days. I haven't noticed any difference in my weight loss and the caffeine curbs my appetite. I gave up everything else but my coffee fix had to stay.
I drink a lot of water so I figure that flushes any bad stuff away.
Keep up the good work.

| I tried decaf coffee and teas in the beginning until I read that the only reason one shouldn't drink real coffee was because of the cravings. Coffee curbs my appetite as well, so I still drink around 4 cups in the morning. It hasn't hurt my weight loss as far as I can tell. |

I've continued to enjoy a daily can of Diet Coke on SBD. I need my caffeine in the morning!
Caffeine can actually act as an appetite suppressant, although it may cause cravings in some people. Physiologically though, it is an appetite suppressant. |

Personally, I find no need to deprive myself of caffeine.
For me, it does NOT cause cravings and I feel awful without a full-strength cup af tea in the morning and 2 or 3 diet cokes a day.
I had low energy carb withdrawal on days 4 & 5, with headaches, but no low energy since then.
I think carb withdrawal and caffeine withdrawal is a double-whammy I would not want to deal with. Take away my carbs, but NOT my caffeine! |

| I was very cautious with caffeine in the first four weeks of SBD (I stayed on P1 for four weeks). Honestly though, I don't think adding caffeine back has hindered my weight loss. One of my most favorite "treats" now is a sugar free vanilla or caramel latte... yummmmmm! Very satisfying! There is NO substitute for good coffee! |

In my younger days when I worked at a convience store, I drank 3 pots, yes I said pots, of coffee every day.
Now at age 34 I've cut WAAAYYYY back on caffene and I was down to one cup of coffee (but a dunkins XL) and a fair amount of diet soda.
I've started drinking more water and less soda before I started phase one anyway and I think I can get by on just a medium black coffee. We may have to get some fresca just for something other than water to drink from time to time...
Sadly, giving up diet coke w/lime is going to be painful, that stuff is crack in a can. |
