Since starting the SB diet 4 days ago, I have stayed off of regular pop, bread and pasta in every way which has been my vice in life. Anyone lose weight just by getting rid of these things?

what about sugar? all other white flour products? white rice? sinfully rich and delicious flourless death-by-chocolate cake?!?! there are a world of possibilities for foods that are NOT soda, bread, and pasta that do major damage to your blood sugar and can contribute to weight gain. fortunately or unfortunately, the SB guidelines really do make sense.

Ok to clarify, I mean not eating white anything, no cake no cookies, no white pasta, diet instead of regular, 1 serving of bread a day which is 100 % whole wheat, whole wheat pasta if i have to eat pasta, that's what i mean.

Those foods can easily be incorporated into SB.

As to whether or not just making that change would help, it's hard to say. That would depend a lot on what else you're eating, like what kinds of proteins and vegetables? Fruits? Added fats? What quantities of those foods?

It reminds me of something I once read at an Atkins board: this guy couldn't figure out why he wasn't losing any weight despite staying under their measly 20g of carbs. It turned out that he was eating eggs, sausage, cheese, burgers, and SF ice cream all day long. They set him straight (he was doing the fad version of Atkins, not the real plan). So it isn't always just about what you've cut out; what you're actually eating is just as important.
