| I need to loose about 30 pounds and a friend of mine at work was telling me about some new diet he had heard about. Does anyone know what actually is the best diet to use ? |

| I'm on SBD, diet, so I don't know much about fad diets or quick fixes at all. Obviously I believe SBD is the best for me or I wouldn't be here. It's neither a fad nor a diet however..it's a healthy way of life so really doesn't answer your question. . |

I'm certainly no expert, but this is just my opinion:
There are plenty of diets out there that are completely opposite
There are low-fat diets that let you eat pasta everyday, there are low carb diets that never let you eat pasta. Seems like both might work because in both cases, you are staying away from a specific food type. I think as long as you don't eat both, it's an improvement and a way to lose weight. In other words, if you like meat, stick to the diet that says no pasta but you can eat meat. If you like pasta better, go with one of those diets that don't allow you to eat meat but pasta is Ok. Seems like eating pasta AND meat is the bad thing to do, no matter which popular diet you choose.
Also doesn't hurt to lay off the cake, cookies and ice cream. |

yeah here's the secret:
eat whole foods avoid processed foods
lean heavily on fruits and veggies add some good fats and lean protein
drink lots of water (at least 8 glasses a day)
exercise both cardio and strength training 3-5 times per week.
have patience. this will work but it will take a long time. |

| Going on a diet doesn't work, fad or not. Making fundamental lifesytle changes usually does work if you make the right kind of chnages and keep them up over time and don't go back to your old patterns and habits. If the way you are eating as you lose weight cannot be sustained as the way you want to eat after you reach your goals, you've pretty much got no shot of long term success. |

I do not think there is one perfect diet. I've been succesful with SB but I may not have been successful with another plan.
I choose SB because:
1. my Dr. recommended it
2. I liked the general thesis of eating balanced meals
3. I believe there is a connection between processed foods and diabetes
and obesity.
4. SB offered me a lifelong plan to eating, not just a 12 week program. |

| I always read that fad diets work for a SHORT time only, because you are not losing fat, but water weight. As soon as you drink water, you'll gaine the weight back. That is why SBD is great! You lose fat, not water weight! |
