I was going out to work in the yard today and as I was putting on my special gardening pants, it struck me that it's really nice to put on a pair of pants without having to suck in my stomach. Just put them on, zip them and button them up.
That got me thinking that it's also really nice to be able to dry my pants on high heat and not have to worry that they'll be so tight I either 1. won't be able to breathe after I get them on; or 2. won't be able to get them on at all.
How about you? Which of life's simple pleasures are you enjoying as a result of your decision to get healthy? |

Knees that don't ache when I wake up in the morning.....
A CHOICE of jeans to wear in my closet......
Getting rid of clothes with elastic waists and wearing low rise pants that look good....
Feeling good about myself instead of being full of self-loathing..... |

| Being able to walk 3 or 4 miles at a brisk clip without breathing hard. Increased energy and flexability. |

Being able to go into any clothing store and pick something "off the rack". I was too glad to say goodbye to Plus sizes and that awful W (i.e. 26W) that has plagued me all of my adult life.
Also, being able to run up the stairs without having to pause at the top to rest a bit. |

Being able to fit comfortably into size 12 pants and size 10 dresses (instead of straining a size 20 as I was when I started)
Not having to shop in the plus-sized section. Being able to find really cute shirts and pants.
Being able to jog - who knew I'd ever be able to do that?
Starting to see definition in my abs, legs and arms...never thought that would ever happen! |

For me it was going shopping...I went to the extra large shirts and size 16 pants and started browsing and my mom said "what are you even looking at those racks for" Then realized that yes, I lost 65 pounds and can now go to small/med. shirts and 6's in pants. I also love that fact that I can wear fitted clothes instead of elastic waist pants and oversize shirts. After so many years of shopping those sizes and styles, I found it was a hard habit to break.
I think the biggest thing for me though is having all the added energy. No wonder I was huffing and puffing before...I was carrying around 6 1/2- 10 pound sacks of potatoes each day...if that isn't enough to wear a person out I don't know what is... |

| Well I wore a tank top for the first time in my whole adult life last week. That was really weird for me but in a good way. |

3 things for me:
1. Being able to get home from work and have enough energy to deal with my kids along with cooking and more office work on the side. Am still trying to figure out how to get over the mental tiredness!
2. Being able to fit wonderfully again in Express and Limited clothes.
3. Being asked for an ID everytime I try to buy alcohol and getting that surprised look to see that I am older than 21 :D |

| Dreamgirl, Benefits #1 and #2 are great, and I've noticed that too, but not #3 yet, and we are the same age...maybe its the extra kid that I have that keeps me looking my age, on the other hand, haven't really bought any alcohol since starting this woe either...I'll keep my fingers crossed next time I do  |
