I LOVE it!! This past weekend I asked my DH if he would take a full body picture of me so that I can post it on the before and after board, to which he replied "Why so you can show all the boys on the internet? I said no I want to have a picture that shows how hard I have worked! and he says "You've already lost almost 20 pounds so whats the point?" I was quite upset at his response. He's not a jealous guy..so what's his problem? I didn't have a way of posting a picture of me before and now I do! But he just brushed me off about it..way to make me feel like crap..we had this whole discussion about how women from his home town lost weight and then cheated on or left thier spouses..but when DH and I got together I was a size 6!! Why would he think I would want someone else because I lost a few pounds??? Grrr...and men say women are complicated ;)

You have to wonder if the idea of cheating came BEFORE the weight loss. Just my thoughts.
Get someone else to take your picture! :D

He probably feels bad about himself because you are looking better than him. Maybe if he works out or something that will make him feel better about himself.

He sounds insecure as heck. I sure wouldn't cater to that, but that's me.

hey, only you can know whether he meant it as a joke or not. My DH used to joke about me joining a gym, having an affair with my personal trainer ("Toby" - where he came up with that I have no idea!), and leaving him. He was kidding, of course, but guys have such fragile egos. By my losing weight, my DH knows I'm more interested in, um, well, you know! I feel better about myself, so that just naturally stands to reason. JMHO....

Peacful your HO makes perfect sense and that's why I'm not sure where this insecurity comes from :? It wasn't meant as a joke since we were having an actual discussion..I know he's not insecure with the way he looks..he's 6ft and 180..he's perfect! He can eat anything he wants anytime..the past weekend I ate a couple of baked potatoe chips and he actually said to me "I thought you were on a diet..should you be eating those?" Which I took to mean hey fatty why are you eating junk???? An argument ensued and then an apology from him..But as Lynt said..why cater to it right?? It's my body and I can be healthy if I want to!! :D |
