Has anyone tried the bean? I am always trying to add a little fun to my workout and this seems to be interesting. I am skeptical of such things, though. You can find more info here: thebean.com.

Umm... is this spam? 'Cause all I see is a site about coffee.

No, it isn't spam. That is the website they listed on the infomercial. I just visited www.bean.com, and it is there.

The link is actually www.bean.com

 I tried the other address and it was for a coffee company...I was so confused.

About the bean, though, I don't know. I do my crunches on a stability ball and I have never had a problem rolling off the side. The home page does say "The Bean's body rocking action does all the work." That's kind of a red flag for me. If you're not doing the work, how do you get any benefit. And if you actually are working, then they don't mind "improving the truth," so how much of what they say can you believe?

m_g...That is such a good point! I was intrigued by it because it holds up to 800 lbs. I have found that my weight and width :D cause me some challenges on stability balls. Thanks for the advice.

Well, if you have problems doing crunches on the floor or on a stability ball, it might be worth it. They say they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee so you could try it. You have to be organized enough to send it back if you don't like it, though. (Sadly, I'm not good at that sort of thing. :( )

Paula, I am not good at sending stuff back either, and I think most companies that offer a guarantee count on people just like us.

Anyway, I think I might send for it in a couple of weeks. In any case, it looks like it might be a comfy place to watch tv!

Ahh, I see the new link. I dunno, it looks kinda gimmicky to me, like the people are just rocking around without much effort. It might be worth it if you have back problems or something though. Let us know how it goes!

If you decide to try it, they sell it for less money at QVC.com, and you get great customer service from them-- very reputable. Their Bean page also has a whole bunch of reviews that might help you make your decision. Just type "the bean" into the search box at QVC.com.

My Mom just got hers. It is really interesting looking. Like one of those video game chairs they put on the floor, but it blows up. It has a little pumper to inflate it. The kids loved it. It looks like it could be beneficial to someone who has weight issues with the balls or has problems with them. My Mom is around your weight and I think she likes it for that reason.

That sounds great! Most of the reviews on QVC were quite positive. I am going to order it today.
