hello everyone!

I'm looking to buy a treadmill in the very near future, and would love any input anyone has.

Ok, here is some info:
i have at the most $2000 to spend. i think thats a good mid-range amount. i would like something pretty quiet, with an adjustable incline (of course), preprogrammed workouts, a fan... a decent warranty, and something that is pretty low maintenace. a fold-up one would be nice, but not necessary. i will probably use the machine about 3-4 times a week. and something that isnt going to fall apart, crack, or break on me.

anyhow, the one ive been looking at is the sole F83. it has pretty much all im looking for, and an awesome warrantly. but wanted to see if anyone has any other advice recommendations?

Thanks!

We have a Landice L8 and it's awesome, but I think it might be out of your price range. I don't remember how much we paid for it.

Hello!

We have an Epic Treadmill purchased from Costco.....and we love it. We have had it for 3 years, using it 5-7 days a week. It does not have a fan and it is not necessarily quiet, though. It was less than 1k and at the time we bought it was reviewed very well on the web. Good luck with your decision!

I have a Nordic treadmill and while I like it, there are some user interface issues that annoy me.

Pros:
preprogrammed workouts or manual available.
Inclines available up to 12%
Runs iFit software (CDs with music where the treadmill changes to match the rhythym for preprogrammed workouts)
It's a little loud with the humming of the motor, but not awful.
Folds up for storage (though I never do it except to sweep out cobwebs and dust bunnies underneath every year or so.

Cons:
What idiot set it up so that the magazine rack hides all the display?
The drink holder has a remote control holder laid over so you can't have both at the same time.

Overall great machine for $1500.

TRY any machine that you want to buy. Walk or run on it and see if it vibrates / wobbles / etc. Make sure it feels comfortable and that the arms are where you want them and you can reach the controls while walking on the machine. Make sure it has the safety key that pulls out to stop the machine if you fall. Since we were (ahem) kind of heavy when we bought it, we had to have our weight taken in to account. Some of the cheaper machines felt really flimsy and like they would have worn out quickly with a lot of use.

thank you all for your advice! i still havent quite decided what to do yet...some big car repairs that came up suddenly has put a damper on my resources. dang. but im really leaning towards teh sole i was originally looking at. hmmm....

and msmarieh, i have a nordic track elliptical that has the same cons that you listed below. the magazine rack on mine not only covers the display, but also the fan. so annoying!
