Dear Admin,

This mod sets up a simple additional required question for the registrant to answer. Spam bots are now able to bypass visual and email confirmations, but they are not able to answer simple questions yet [unless the spam bot is a human]. I have a forum that's constantly being spammed, but after installing this mod, they're unable to register.
If you need any help installing the MOD, please pm me and let me know. Being a forum admin myself I know how frustrating and annoying it is to have them posting junk around. ;) I urge you to consider and take action! |

FWIW, I sent a PM to sbdiet on Monday May 7th, when I read this OP and said I would notify the system admin. As of today, July 5th, she has not yet picked up the PM as it is still sitting in my outbox.
I agree about General Chat. Wish we could do more, but all's I can do is delete them when I see them when I come online. They are drifting into other forums too, just not quite to that extent.
Personally I think we all ought to go find another board that cares more about it's inhabitants and members and is more actively administered. The mods can only do so much with our limited tool sets and it's getting very old from our end as well. |
