Hey everyone  I am new to south beach. I just started yesterday. I havent really found it that bad.. althought I did find myself hungry a bit yesterday and I did have some cravings...i'm excited for those cravings to disappear however. I was wondering if anyone could share some success stories for a little inspiration. Thank you so much. I look forward to talking to you all.

| Hi--I am also new to South Beach. I started on Sunday. I am 45 yrs old, I am 5'3", current weight 130, goal is 110. So far I have done pretty good but, it has only been 2 1/2 days. I sure hope I can succeed on the SB. Any support and words of encouragement would be great. I seem to be eating more than I usually do, but have had no carbs. I hope I don't gain weight. I will let you know at the end of P1 how I have done. I wish you all much success and hope to talk to you again. :D |

I am 18 years old. I have always struggled with weight. I am big boned by nature but since I can remember I have been trying to lose weight and be more fit. I am really looking forward to the end of phase one so i can hopefully see some results. I am incorporating 6 days a week of power 90 by beach body. I have already completed the Slim in 6 program however i did not adjust my eatting habits at the time so I did not lose much. I am now doing an hour a day with Power Half Hour tapes six times a week. I hope to see some drastic results.
Good Luck to everyone. :)! |

Good luck to you too! I started at the end of March and just did P1 for the first 2 weeks and lost 9 lbs. I'm down 13 total after 5 weeks. I really didn't start exercising at all until last week though. Even when the weight loss has slowed down in P2, what motivates me is just knowing I am eating so much better, and I already look better and that it is a marathon, not a sprint. There have been times I have been hungry, but no real bad cravings that were driving me crazy or anything. It just seems very sensible to me and for the life of me (literally!) I don't know why I wasn't eating like this a long time ago.
Oh yeah, the no sugar added fudgesicles and sf/ff pudding are my lifesavers!! The "late night snack" zone was always my downfall and absolute worst time of the day for me. I still "need" something in the 9:30 - 11:00 time frame, but it is no longer just me, a spoon and the ice cream container. (Dishes were always so small and confining and I hated getting up for seconds, so why not just take the container down to the couch to start with!)
I think the thing you said in your last post that was most relevant was that you wanted to be more fit. Fit isn't always skinny, but what is healthy for you. The weight loss is great, but I try to keep the big picture in mind too that this is really about just being and eating healthier for the long term. |

| I just started the South Beach also.....going on day 3 but haven't gotten on the scale yet....scared I guess, that this one won't work like all the rest. I think that Mother's Day is going to be a challenge with spending the day with the entire family, and what do they like to do but EAT< They asked me to bake something....go figure. I am feeling strong though and much better than I have for a long time. I continue to work out, weights and treadmill so I am sure that will help the process along. Sounds like everyone else is doing very well...........this is exciting. Keep up the good work everyone! :D |

| Welcome! I just started too, so let's see if we can hang in there? I need 10 lbs to loose...anyone outthere with more or less the same to lose. If seems to me that the more lbs you have to loose, the faster the weight will come off. Is that right? Anyone out there working on the 10 lbs? Thanks! |

Hey there everyone...its day three and I still have not cheated...i may have ate a few two many nuts :? but i think its okay because i did an hour long workout...
southbeachcat...why dont you bake some cookies...the peanut butter ones. I love them...i find it very difficult however to not over indulge...so i think i may limit myself that treat only a few times a week otherwise i'll end up eatting the whole batch! they are so yummy!
I tried some of the sugar free candy last night and oh boy was i sick after that...i think i'll just give up candy all together...
Well i'm off to get some groceries.
Love Always,

| I will be starting tomorrow. Reading all the postings is very helpful in getting me motivated. I'm finding though that I have events coming up this weekend where I may not be able to do it 100%. Guess I will have to do the best I can with what food is there. Wish me luck! I have a function next weekend... let's see how many pounds I can lose in a week and a half. :D |

| Hello Newbies! So good to see a bunch of us starting at the same time, that way when we hit a plateau or want to give up, we have friends to help us through. Reading this message board keeps me inspired! |

Weighed this morning... 5'6" 162.5  (easy to post your weight when no one knows you!) I'm going to try to approach this one day at a time instead of looking at the whole week or 2 weeks of Phase 1 and wondering how I will get through or what events I have coming up that will hinder me... (and then I think... hmmm, might as well wait until that function passes to begin so it's okay to go ahead and eat the junk before hand. I know I've done that once or twice).
At WW they say to keep an "anchor" by you that will represent what your goals are (like a heart on your key chain or a photo on your refrigerator, jewelry, etc...) so I have a silver bracelet with smiley faces that look like little suns that I will wear everyday to remind me of my goal to be able to enjoy the sunny days in a bathing suit and not sweat pants! When I have a tough day, seeing that bracelet is suppose to help me to stay focused - unless I'm drinking margaritas and then I probably won't care! Just kidding. :P
Will check back in a few days to report progress!
Everyone - keep up the good work! |
