Count me in too! (I know I won't meet my goal by then, so a challenge is just what I need to keep going strong!)

i think the real question is....who will be "in charge"? i dont get on the boards much during the day, or during weekdays in general (you know, that thing, work...), but could help out if need be!

Good question..who will run it?

I will be back for any challenge and DH helped me set up a spread sheet so it is pretty easy to keep track of points.

I certainly want people to have the opportunity to lead a team!

Hello to all of you...

I would like to join June challenge too, I am doing one now but last week I totally messed it up. I am looking forward to that especially since I don't work during summer months.

Any thoughts yet on what this challenge might be?

I have been thinking about the challenge too.
For me, I know after this vacation I will need to get back on track. There will be too much good food to say no to.

Are we looking for a challenge for people to recommit? Are we looking for a challenge that focuses on healthy eating? A challenge which requires us to journal everyday? Here are my thoughts for what I would want ina a challenge:

Journaling:
For me, personnally, I have found the greatest success in the daily journaling..writing/posting my food everyday. It is easier to stay on plan when I have my food planned out in advance.

Weekends:
I still, after 3 challenges struggle through the weekends, to include eating, exercising, and drinking my water.

Dining out:
It is without fail I know we will go out to eat. I pre screen my restaurant choices to include SB friendly menus...and then when I get there..I just don't want "grilled tilapia and veggies" Then I spend a long time wargaming the menu-only to fall back on a salad.

Planning a splurge:
Not every week is going to be 100% SB, and I can live with that. Unfortunately I am an all or nothing personality.when it comes to challenges I want to win.. I do want to give myself "permission" to have a planned splurge-but not at the expense of not having "a perfect week"

When it comes to a challenge my favorite challenge was the "extreme challenge" which gave full points for staying SB 90% of the week.

Over a week that allowed you one meal or one snack to be non beachy which you could take (or not) and still stay competitive for points.
That meant that if I ate 6 mini meals a day over 7 days one session out of 42 was not beachy and wasn't points penalized.

Perfect weeks are hard and having the best intentions of staying beachy, life sometimes just get in the way.

Exercise:

What can I say, I am a fan of it. I am not sure how much is enough but for me I try and do some type of exercise 6 days a week-even if one day is just a walk.

Weighing yourself:

Maybe doing a weekly weigh in if you are trying to lose? Maybe the challenge to weigh yourself 1 x a week (and that I would have a hard time doing)
I read in my WW magazine-successful weight loss people:
weighed weeky when trying to lose weight
weighed daily when trying to maintain weight loss
It is kind of counter intuitive to me, but I can see the logic.

I would be happy to take the lead when I get but I am not sure I would be a good role model for a team after 10 days of not SBing on vacation!

i would be happy to design a challenge IF YOU GUYS THINK YOU CAN HANDLE IT.

what i would like to do would be a challenge that focuses on exercise, and on pushing yourself to the next level with your diet and health plan in general. we should all be maintaining good eating habits at the very least, and i'm not a fan of too many points for good behavior. instead, i'd love to have a challenge that centered on getting your workouts in [let's be honest, this is harder to do than to eat deliciouis salads], on increasing your fitness level via trying new workouts and increasing your time or intensity, etc., and on goal-setting and meeting those goals.

whatever your fitness level is, you can still participate. if you normally walk for 30 minutes, you can walk at a faster pace or increase your time. if you don't do any resistance training, you can start small. you can take it at your own level, but should at least be exercising four days a week and doing resistance at least two ... from there, you can earn bonus points for pushing yourself.

on top of exercise, everyone should set some goals [3? 4? 5?] for the week and will get points if they meet those. i also like a water requirement. and i'll try thinking of a fun bonus challenge that will change weekly.

how does this sound to everyone? i think this will allow you to make your own program and monitor yourself through personal goals, but will have some basic requirements for exercise and water.

I'm in! It sounds good to me A-Rod, especially since I just started back on SB and exercise is the main thing I need to focus on. This is a great motivator!!
