Hi
I'm sorry I've been crazy busy, I'll update my log now and sicne I've been really bad last week, I am not sure I am up for the bonus
It's my pre-that day week, and I can't really control very much what I eat
I have total cravings, plus no incentive, since I am already at my goal weight range (13-135)
I guess I need desperate motivation
or maybe I'll just start fresh nect week
I don't know!! |

The good effect of exercise.
When I went to the gym this morning for BodyPump I was both physically and mentally down. I was physically down from doing 3+ hours tilling by hand in the gardens, most of it with a garden fork. I was mentally down because of upcoming Memorial Day. I get down every year around Memorial Day because I know 8 people on the Wall, (3 high school classmates, 4 from my Basic Training Company, and a childhood friend.) But the intense exercise of BodyPump seems to have cleared by body and has given me a better, firmer outlook on life. For this I will be grateful. |

Hi all
Well after 5weeks on the challenge I lost 3 lbs., feel I'm doing better aerobically and although my underarms still flap, it looks like a little definition on the outer part of my arms. At The first of theyear I weighed in at 167 and started SB on 3/19 at 161. I'm now at 152.
One of the things I learned taking part in the challenge was that even if you have a lousy week, where you are inundated with non beachy food because of conferences, outings or other circumstances and you succumb to temptation and eat whats available even though its not beachy, its not the end of the world. You get back on the beach, knowing a slip isn't a failure and continue on.
So I'm plugging away. I'm aware of what I'm not eating as much as I know what I eat. I shun fried foods, pastries, cakes, most snack foods in the potato chip aisle of Krogers and can avoid the sweets brought into work. I can't say I'm not tempted but I try to substitute fruits and veggies for the garbage I used to eat.
Thank you all on the challenge for keeping me going. |

Hi
I know there are a few of us doing the bonus week, so how is everyone doing?
I've gotten in 1 strength, 1 cardio, 1 walk, 3 days of crunches, and water and beachy foods all the way! |

The Good and The Bad
The Good.
Monday did BodyPump, (55 min.) at max weights
Tuesday did BodyFlow (55 min) with some problems - see below
Wednesday did BodyPump again (55 min) at slightly less weights
The Bad
Tuesday before BodyFlow at 5:00 AM I was in the locker room just as they were finishing cleaning it up. The wooden benches were placed on top of the lockers. So being an old mucho fool, I tried to lift it off and put it on the floor. Well it is an oak bench and heavier than I thought it would be. It slipped and sprained/twisted the fore and middle finger of my right hand. Yes I am right handed! The fingers hurt like the devil but I still when to BodyFlow. I found that if careful I could still do the 'Sun Salute' and 'the Crane' pose. I had trouble opening doors, starting my truck, holding my coffee mug, typing, and using the mouse. It was stightly better by night. Wednesday morning, the swelling was up a little but the pain much reduced. And no major discoloration! I did BodyPump at a slightly reduce weight and had no problems except when I forgot when lowering myself to the mat for AB work. Throughout the day, the hand has become stronger and better. I even did some ironing tonight and yes, married men can iron!
Whats next.
Well Thursday morning I will do BodyStep (55 min. aerobics/cardio) and later in the evening I will do BodyCombat (55 min mega aerobics/cardio). Neither will effect my hand much so the hand will probably get better and better. Friday I will do BodyPump carefully followed by Saturday BodyStep and Sunday BodyCombat. Sometime Friday or Saturday, I will also cut the lawn for my outdoor aerobics. (I do not count my daily 30 minutes of dog walking for aerobics, I (we) enjoy it too much - a man and his dog thing!)
And Monday, after the challenge, I plan a personal challenge. 8:30 AM BodyStep, 9:35 AM BodyPump, and 10:40 BodyFlow. A Triple! |

Hi Gang! I'm doing the bonus week and the workouts have been great this week, same for food. I'm gaining weight, however.....go freaking figure.
Bob, sorry to hear that you messed up your finger. I'm glad you're getting better. Otter, it's great that you're checking in. Keep enjoying that trip! |

| Hand is coming along fine, the swelling is almost gone. It still is a little tender in some movements, but not bad. I discovered in BodyStep today, that push ups with the knees on the floor caused pain in the fingers regular on the toes push ups did not. I decided to change my workout schedule to help the hand, I will still go to BodyCombat tonight but will skip BodyPump on Friday morning but add it on Saturday, just before my scheduled BodyStep. I love to double up anyway! :D |

Hi everyone!
I am back and yes I gained some weight. Boy the food was way too good!
I decided to revisit phase 1 for at least a week, maybe 2--the cravings got out of control the last few days.
I am so glad everyone hung tough- I really did keep up with the exercising and drinking the water, just the eating was too hard to do!
Hope your bonus week goes great!
Take care

Tomorrow is the last day of the Bonus Week and no chatter? Well I will bore you all for the second to last day:
Today (Saturday) I did BodyPump (strenght), BodyStep (aerobics) and a 45 minute dog walk (just pure pleasure.) The is nothing like walking a dog on a beautiful evening (about 68 degrees and most cloudy - but nice) with everything green and peaceful. In week 2 or 3 of this challenge I put in teaching my dog to walk on lead better. We have been doing just about every night since then. She now walks at heel the total time, We had a very good time. Now when she hear me ripping open my Tevas she comes a running, as happy a dog as she can be.
And tomorrow BodyCombat (mega aerobics  )
Lets all hear it for this challenge one last time! |
