And now we start

So today the yellow team is off in a blast,
My hour of strength training went so fast.
In the new BodyStep release
Chest track was a real piece
All done so that the good feeling will last!

A big fan of rhymes and of pun,
I join in the limerick fun
With Old Grey Bob
I'll help with the job
Of keeping Team Y on the run!

I love writing limerics!

An add-on:

I had a real surprise this morning. After a solid ten days at 209, my weight jumped up to 211. The only thing I can think of is that I started a new antibiotic, Levaquin, Saturday for a sinus infection. But what goes on will come off, by the weekend!

I got a solid workout in. For any BodyPump’rs, the new release's chest and lunge tracks are r-o-u-g-h!

I like that - What goes on will come off. Mind if I use that as my motto?

I'm going out to walk the beast before I do my strength training. Big surprise today - I finished 64 oz of water and am still standing.

GO YELLOW!

Hi TEAM!!!

Sounds like everyone is off and running
Work was an absolute nightmare today--I just want to drwon myself in a beer...ok low carb beer is yukk...so maybe some red wine...

I did get my cardio session in and I was able to knock out my 25 push ups without stopping!!
My gym scale was kind to me today--has me down to 143.5....I am getting closer to goal...unfortunately my home scale ALWAYS weighs me heavier...but it is going down, not up!!

I see some friends from our last challenge made it to our team so helllo again to Meemoo and Lupe!!! (((WAVES)))

Hi also to FITANYA, RDH and Zosia need it gone, Aingeal and Red Rabbit!
I will never keep all our names straight!

Did everyone do ok with the water and meals?

Water is getting easier for me but Monday dinner is a pain b/c oldest son and DH go to Boy Scouts so we call this "fend for yourself night" And what a pain to make a full up meal for me and the little boys.

Old Grey Bob and Loves2paint..thanks for the pithy limericks they are great!!

I hope our team has the highest number of posts to our throead. I am convinced the more we stay connected, the better chance we have of all finishing! So just post a "quick hello!"

Have a great rest of the day!!

Well, my day is finally winding down, DH is giving DS his nighty-night bottle as I type. There are two times during my day that I have to myself, this (about 15 mins to 30 mins) and my morning workout. Here's a quick run-down of my day

4:45- wake up, 10 min. elliptical warm-up, Power 90 Circuit 1/2 (30 minutes)
5: 40- shower, get dressed
6:00- baby awake! Day begins

B- hb egg, V8, green pep slices and cucumber
S- crackers, chicken, Allegro Jalopeno cheese
L- turkey chili on salad (mixed greens, yellow and green pepper, cukes)
S- cream cheese and pb on celery
D- poached salmon, italian spaghetti squash, asparagus
S- strawberries and a nice, relaxing cup of pomegranate tea (still to come)

Water- 3 liters

Feel free to comment on anything that you see might need improving. While I have lost weight, I am trying to figure out why I'm not losing faster.

Hope everyone had a great day!
Tanya :D

Well, I overslept because the power went off because of the lovely storm so I did not get my morning workout in. I did get my water in and ate beachy all day. I am going to try to get a workout done yet tonight at least a cardio. Hope everyone has a great night.

Wow! I could never wake up at 4:45 AND workout! You rock!!! I can barely wake up at 7:30 to go to work and working out is never an option!

My day was a disaster! The only reason i'm sticking to the plan today is because I don't have my car and I can't go out to get some bad foods! First, I woke up late and had to rush to get in the shower, make coffee and lunch, cook an sustainable breakfast, eat and apply makeup at the same time. Then I get outside, it's has snow all night but now it's raining like hell and the roads are a mess. Realize I forgot my coffee at home, go back, take the coffee. I finally arrive at work 15 minutes late. Fortunatly, my day wasn't too busy at work... Get out of work, start the car and there's this really big noise and then the car shut down! What the ****! That car was in top shape this morning!! Take my cellphone.... no battery! Why does this always happens when I need it! Go inside to call road assistance, wait for an hour, get towed to my nearest car dealer, then had to call someone to pick me up. I arrived at home at 20:30 (I usually get home at 5:30), I was dehydrated and starving!!! So now I just finished eating dinner.... and the LAST thing I want to do is workout!! Well I will probably won't be able to go to work until my car get fix, so I could probably find some time in my schedule to workout tomorrow! Well I hope tomorrow will be a better day!!!

See ya!

For me early workout is a habit or a rut (DW thinks it is a rut!)
Monday thru Friday,
up at 4:25 AM -- take meds and dress for the gym
4:45 AM Leave for the gym
5:05 AM Arrive at the gym
5:30 AM Do BodyPump, BodyFlow, or BodyStep (soon BodyJam and/or BodyCombat too!)
6:35 AM Shower and dress for work
6:45 AM Leave for work
6:55 AM Stop at Starbucks for coffee and newspaper
7:10 AM Arrive at work
Eat breakfast while reading and sending emails
I take only a half hour lunch - hopefully a plan-over reheated.
3:40 PM Leave work for home
4:20 PM Get home, start supper, if necessary do personal laundry, prepare snacks, and lunch for next day. Before bed at 9:15 PM, set out clothes for the next day and pack the gym bags.

Once it become a habit it actually becomes easy. Saturday and Sunday the workout schedule is moved up an hour or so.

One thing that really helps is that I cook with the idea of a plan-over. Then when the table is set, I also set a plastic divided left-over dish for the lunches during the week. I fill the plan-over dish while my DW and I eat so when the meal is done, so is the lunch. And if the supper is beachy so is the lunch!

BTW -- yes I do most of the cooking -- DW does not like to cook but I love the occasions when she does. :)

OldGreyBob- I have to ask what type of dog is in the picture? Is it a sable German Shepard? Very nice looking dog!

Just getting ready to call it a night. The Jazz have sufficiently pounded the Trailblazers (my sympathies for you Blazers fans). Next we face the Rockets for our last game of the season then off to face the Rockets in Round one of the Playoffs.

Proud to report that I did W1W3 of my C25K program and it is getting easier each time. I will finish this week on Week 1 then most likely move to Week 2 next week. I just found a 5K that is part of the Pocatello Marathon on September 1st. I can be ready for that, right? DH wants to start the C25K program as soon as the semester is over. So that should be fun, although we'd have to get a babysitter just so we could train together. So we'll probably be doing most of the training separately, but concurrently (is that the right word?). And I had NO sugar today (except for my 1 sq. of dark chocolate. One day down 6 to go!)

To All of You Morning Exercisers- My hats off to you, I wish I was a morning person. There have been some rare occasions when I have gotten up early (usually by a child) and I know how much can be accomplished in the morning hours.

Maryone- I am so sorry to hear of your crappy day. Rest assured that we have all had those days when everything that can go wrong will. Tomorrow is another day and most likely can't be as bad as today. Hang in there! You have my permission to have an extra square of dark chocolate!

Redrabbit- I hope you were able to get your cardio in tonight. I know how much better it makes me feel about my day.

ftanya- I feel so lucky that my kids are not early risers. At least my 7 yo and 4 yo know not to wake me if they get up before me. Just go downstairs and watch "Pokemon" is all I have to tell them. And your menu looks so yummy. I hope you enjoyed your tea.

Otter- Hi!!! (((WAVES BACK)))

OGB- I wish we had a gym in town that offered those Les Mills classes. I am dying to try them. We have a Gold's Gym Preview Center at the mall (I guess I should double check and see if they offer anything there, I assumed they didn't) and I keep waiting for them to break ground on the new facility.

I hope all you Yellows have a great night (most of you on the East side of the country are snoozing by now I'm sure)! We'll have a great Day 2 tomorrow!

Good Morning TEAM YELLOW!!

To all the early morning exercisers..you are my heroes!!

I get up every morning at 4:50 just so I can be at work by 6:30!! I can barely function until after my 1st cup of coffee. I am a mid morning exerciser but sometimes I have to do it early and that's rough for me.

Last challenge I started power walking and sprinting intervals and that has really changed my outlook on running. I am absolutely phobic of running. I am in the Army and we have a PT test 2 times a year which we have to run 2 miles. I have dreaded it every year since I was 18 and now at 37, it is not nearly so dreadful!
I cannot wait for the weather to move into warmer territory. It is cold and blustery. I have my outdoor exercising picked out which is me and DH power walking along the river after the kids go to bed. We live right off the Potomac River and across from Reagan National Airport in DC--so when it is dark, all the monuments are lit up and so is the Capitol. It is also nice to spend time with DH walking--although there is not much talking going on because of the fast pace.

Hope everyone is drinking their water and posting!

How are the recipes for you?
I bought a WW 2007 cook book and there is some good stuff in there I can makeSB friendly!

Have a great morning!

DH showed me his new excercises from his trainer. Boy are my abs and back weak!

Hope you all have a great day. DH birthday is tomorrow. He wants to go out to eat..........

Redrabbit wrote: OldGreyBob- I have to ask what type of dog is in the picture? Is it a sable German Shepard? Very nice looking dog! Jasmine is a generic dog, a pound mutt. She has German Shepard markings, shoulders that would put a husky to shame, medium short hard fur that does not wet easy or hold dirt, and jaws of a pit bull. All this wrapped up in a 90# dog that is so gentle, except to vets, that you can put your hand in her food dish while she is eating and she will lick your hand.

We rescued her from the pound in 1999, a month after both my Mother and my previous dog, a Dalmatian, passed away. I needed her about as much as she needed me! From what we were told, Jasmine was kicked out of her home at 6 months of age and was on her own for 3 months. She got picked up and taken to the pound. There she had been adopted twice and returned twice to pound. When we got her, she had been there 3 months. We saw her in the pound and instantly fell for her. We really love her, and she graces the home page of my webpage.
