luvmycitters - love it!

Okay, so you'll be the Green Team, and Otter's is the Yellow Team... just have to pick a color myself now. I'll start to get the teams set up this weekend, and start up the Team Chat threads... people may join as late as Monday though (since we put this together so quickly - I am SO happy we got something together though!!), so we can add them into the teams then.

Also, I'm going to get a spreadsheet set up that I can share with the Team Captains...

I'm REALLY looking forward to this!!!

One neat thing I figured out - I've been doing well with my water intake for the past few weeks... I never used to drink plain water at all really. So what I've been doing is filling up 3 20-oz water bottles each night and drinking it throughout the next day. It's not half my weight in ounces, and it's not even 64oz exactly, but it's SO much more than I had been doing before! So for this challenge, I was trying to think of an easy way to get those extra four ounces, since my bottles only hold 20 each... so I actually measured, and discovered I CAN fit 21.33 ounces (2 and 2/3 cups) in each bottle if I fill it to JUST below the top! Woohoo! So I can really use these same bottles to get in the full 64oz. I'm just excited because making this easier makes it so much more likely I'll accomplish it. Hooray!

lora, i know how you feel on the not wanting to do strength on top of long rides ... because you really ARE doing resistance work on your legs ... if you can incorporate some core/abs and upper body, that should be feasible, right?

maybe on days where your rides involve hill work that can count as strength, and on lighter, flat days you could do some upper body and core exercises in the AM if you ride in the PM [or vice versa]? i don't know what your route is like, but a hilly ride should definitely count as strength, IMO.

Right now I ride from home so I do have a couple minor hills I can't avoid. I'm in Washington so I can find hilly routes pretty easy. I'm very tired atm and having to force myself out on the bike. I can't wait until 25 miles is a piece of cake so that is keeping me going!

I'm going to find some pilates and I do have a yogilates tape that I like. I was surprised how much it did work my muscles!
