I'm in week one of Cto5K. I'm doing my second workout today after work. I did my first workout on Monday and let me tell you...my legs are SORE. The funny thing is that I'm happy about it. It's a reminder of the fact that I'm moving my body and working my muscles again. I haven't felt my muscles in soooo long...it's awesome.

Anyone else in week 1? We can keep up with each other and encourage each other.

Hi, I'm repeating week 1. I was definitely not ready to move on. I plan to continue repeating it until I'm pretty comfortable with it, then move on to week two.

That is probably the best course of action to take since you will be more likely to stick with it. I know in the past I've gone gung ho on exercise programs and completely burnt myself out within a month or injured myself. This time I'm going to take it very slow. I figure it's not a race to the finish line but a new thing I want to incorporate into my lifestyle forever. It need be, I'll repeat week 1 as well.

I'm also in week 1 for the second time. I may do it one more week, too. It just depends how I hold up. I figure, as long as I'm doing something, I'll improve slowly but surely.

Happy running!

Hey coffebean!

Just wanted to congratulate you on your hard work so far! I'm in the middle of week 4 of Cto5K and am really really loving it.

The soreness at first is really normal as your legs build new muscles... do make sure you are stretching out THOROUGHLY before and after your workouts though! Also, don't push yourself to go TOO fast at first... some people start off really fast, and then burn out or injure themselves, so don't let that happen!

Also, feel free to check out the "Couch to 5K" thread on this forum - most of us that post to it are varying ways through the program, and then there are a few actual runners who post too, which can be really encouraging and helpful, and it's really motivating to read about everyone else's successes.

Anyway, enjoy your progess through the program!!!
