Curves CAN'T suck THAT much!

I am well aware that the internet contains many inaccuracies...

However, Sparkpeople is telling me that a 45-minute workout at Curves burns 288 calories.

In contrast, various websites are telling me that, for my weight, 45 minutes of low-impact aeorbics burns 388, circuit training in a normal gym w/ minimal rest burns 540, and walking 5 mph burns 540.

I don't know what Sparkpeople thinks I'm doing on that Curves circuit. Walking 2 mph on the recovery boards and doing the weights as slow as I possibly can?

Someone enlighten me. I know I ought not get hung up on the numbers, but I am really bugged here.

The BEST way to find out would be to wear a HR monitor... you'll know exactly of much calories you burned during that workout! The numbers on Spark are also driving me crazy, it's hard to know by estimating everything!

I believe all the SP calculators work on the # of calories above and beyond BMR.
