hello everyone, looking for some opinions here...

i have been doing the elliptical 45 min a day for quite some time. recently, i began to use the recumbent bike as well, and am loving it, mostly because its easier to read on there than on the elliptical.

can anyone tell me differences in workouts on the two machines? for me, its weird. i feel like i get a better workout on the elliptical, but i sweat WAY more on the bike.

any input would be great. i probably will end up doing a combo of both, but was wondering how the recumbent bike stacks up....

thanks!

the elliptical is a funny machine. you can set the incline and that changes the movement of your legs and the muscles used.
the lowere 1/3 of the incline% available is more like walking, the middle incline % uses the same muscles as you would if you were to be on the bike, and the upper % is like a stairmaster. i know this dosent help you much, but i was talking to a trainer the other day about it and i learned this so i thought id share :)... and although the recumbrant bike is easy to read on id suggest reading on an upright bike so you engage your core a bit more :), although i find it easy to read on the elliptical too, so if youre having trouble reading on the elliptical you might have trouble reading on the upright bike...
just a thought :)
