I was put on Paxil 5 years ago for PMS symptoms and gained about 23 pounds. I just can't seem to take it off. I have started SPD today. Hoping it will help.

I took Zoloft for a few months to help me through some tough times (family member death, illness, etc). I piled on the weight like crazy and that is why I am trying the SBD. I don't know if the Zoloft actually caused the weight gain or the sense of "not caring" did it and I ate much more....anyway I am OFF the stuff now and feel so much better than I did before. It may me feel like I was living in a fog.

Good luck. I just finished the first week of phase I. Yippeee! Great results so far. Carra

I have been on Paxil (10mg) for quite some time for PMS symptoms and I did put on weight but also was very inactive. I started this diet Feb 1 and I've lost 24 pounds and I'm happy and energetic . I've never felt better so YES, it can be done! My husband has lost 50 and continues. We will stay with this new life style forever! We love it & I never thought I could give up my sweets!!

I was put on Paxil several years ago and I don't remember if I gained weight or not. I stopped taking it after my depression got worse and I stopped all anti depressants after spending 2 weeks sitting in a chair staring at the wall, if my husband didn't lead me to the shower and washed me I wouldn't have even bathed or dressed myself. I guess I'm just one of theose people wh can never take anti depressants.

The fact that you guys (& girls) are losing weight is encouraging to me. I've been on Paxil for almost 3 yrs and I've put on about 50 lbs. I'm now down to 20 mg and have been there for a while. I have NO energy but the anxiety/depression is pretty much gone so I know it was a good choice for me.

I really need to shed this weight so I'm curious of anyone else has had success while on Paxil. Thanks for bringing this topic up.

I'm starting SBD today so wish me luck!!!

:D :D :D :D I have been on SBD for 4 days and am down 6 pounds. This is just so great!!! I am no longer on Paxil but I am presently taking Zoloft 100mg so it can be done. I never thought I would lose a pound but now I have finally FOUND SOMETHING THAT WORKS! Good luck everyone!

BOY DID I!!! And with Prozac & Lexapro... :? I am back on Wellbutrin ((it does not seem to have the dreaded extra-fluffy effect for me)) Was put on Lexapro about two mos ago and I could not stop eating... or gaining for that matter!! Felt really hopeless and more depressed :( ((and I have a fairly low carb--always sugar free and flour free diet)) I gained ten pound eating adkins treats and "carb free" psedo-treats!!

I am day three of SB!! I love this plan...... I love the sweet treat allowance. ((before on other programs, like Adkins or OA--"off plan" treats are not allowed, so I would go into CHEAT-mode. CHEAT-mode is a sure-fire way for me to over-consume -- feeling like the bad little-girl-failure!

I savored my treats yesterday ((I like SF popsicles)) I'm in a Cali heatwave right now.

Onward and upward((or downward where the scale is concerned))

has anyone been or is on effexor?
has it affected your weight at all. my psychiatrist told me you loose a little weight when taking it, but i felt just the opposite. i've been on it for 6 years.

I've been on Prozac for about 8 years (20 mg) and at first I think it helped me lose weight, but over the last 3 years or so I think it's caused me to gain. I'm trying to shake 8 pounds or so and am having a heck of a time. I'm slowly weaning off Prozac over the next few months to see if I can live happily without it (and to actually FEEL some emotions again ... instead of this "gee, everything is just peachy" dullness). Anyway, antidepressants do cause weight gain for many people, from what I've read. Here's hoping we can all lose weight and keep sane at the same time. :-)
