Hi Sky--
I think the grilled garlic would be fine...can't see why not. If I were you, I would buy the "Good Carbs, Bad Carbs" book. It lists things like the sour cream and whether you want fat free or whatever. Alot more is allowed than you think such as small quantities of REAL mayo.
Crockpotting sounds like a great idea for you! Try this:
4 skinless boneless chicken breast halves
1 package taco seasoning mix
1 cup salsa
1/4 cup light sour cream
Spray the crockpot with cooking spray. Add the chicken breasts. Sprinkle with Taco Seasoning. Top with salsa. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
Stir in 1/4 cup of sour cream when ready to serve.
My family really likes this.
Oh...and quit counting carbs...too much work! :D

That sounds delicious and I will try that one out for sure, my kids love mexican and chicken...mmmmm.! Thanks! hehehe @ stressing over counting carbs... ok! I will chill. Now for the journaling:
Thanks to Mags, I ended up having:
1 mock cinnabon for breakfast
AM S = A peice of leftover Nuclear cheesecake made yesterday
Lunch = celery sticks with a little bit of low carb PB on them (small amt)
and a roll up "sandwich" its a low carb whole grain roll with 6 net carbs, in it I have some small peices of grilled chicken breast left over from yesterday, with a couple smidgins of avacado and 1 slice of diet cheese.
(I tend to eat more in the day at work and less at home later... but the nuclear cheesecake for snack in the AM was a real splurge...now I can't have any tonight LOL, but it was a great Monday morning boost!) |

Here again, journalin'!
Just had the 4 PM slump and was hungry and lost energy. So I heated up some leftovers from last night, cauliflower and roasted garlic pieces with a small piece of garlic chicken (grilled). Dang I do eat alot in the day time don't I!!? But after leaving here (work) and driving home the hour plus, I won't show up at home all hungry and depleted so that I will be short with my kids. This way I have a full belly and will be able to go home and jump right in to parenting. Am I doing ok today???

| I tend to eat alot at work too. I always get really strong cravings around 3 or 4 in the afternoon - not sure if I really need to eat something or if I'm just used to having something at this time. I sure wish there was a way to deal with it. |

I think eating enough to be satisfied is the key...just don't overdue it. Easier said than done :) .

I think if we listen to our bodies they will tell us when our hungry times of day are... for example all my life I know that at 11 AM and 4 PM are when I am truly hungry...those are just key points in the day when my body screams EAT whether I am in a skinny or fat phase of life. So I have decided to listen to my body and go with it. I eat lunch at 11 AM now at work at my desk and then at 4 PM I try to have some protein or/and veggies or something healthy but substancial. It really helps the evening go smoother. For example I am not hungry at all since I got home so I am fine since that cauliflower and chicken for supper...at work! Goofy as that sounds LOL I have noticed that if I dont' eat at 4 PM I gear myself up for a potential binge during supper hour because I am so hungry when I get home I can't cook dinner fast enough so stuff goes in the mouth that should. Anyone else have similar experiences?

Wow, these two weeks are passing fast. The challenge will be the partying this weekend (which is not the norm but a big gathering of friends at the beach twice a year). I just started today with a mock cinnabon. mmmm. and a cup of coffee. Well, better get ready for work. Feeling good and no hunger or cravings these weeks. BUT odd just leg tiredness/cramps... I was going to do my leg lifts last night but they were so weird/achy feeling that instead I took an ibuprophen and put them up (did arm lifts though) anyone else have any odd aches or muscle tiredness feelings ever in the first two weeks? I am used to working my legs and taking loads of stairs so it was an odd feeling. anyone else? Have a beautiful day....

Sky,
Here's a thread for you regarding those leg cramps. It looks like others have suffered from the same thing.

Enjoy your beach get together this weekend! You CAN DO THIS!

Help I just need to know how bad I did... I was so tired today I did something I never do, I decided to splurge on a cup of coffee this afternoon. So I went to the booth and thought I would get a flavored coffee with splenda in it. I asked if they have iced flavored coffee, she said yep, next thing I know I pay and then she hands me some frozen yummy tasting icey conncotion. when I saw her start to add flavored syrup I said stop! But there was some in there. :-( And it was hot, I was low on funds and I am ashamed to say rather than waste it, I WAISTED it....if you know what I mean. so did I blow the whole phase 1???? :-(
help?

Just keep going. The first time I was on phase 1, I started eating some peppermints not even thinking that that was SUGAR. Oh well. It happens. At least you were conscious of it after the fact and I'll bet you don't do it again...at least without planning to.

Hi Sky,
With your job, and travel time, and all of the rest, you are doing SO GREAT!! I can't even imagine trying to do this, with such a schedule as you have. I've been reading alot of other people out there with hectic schedules too. I don't envy ya all. But it sure sounds like your doing super with it, by eating at 4 pm like you're doing. I can see where that would hold you over, and let you get right into parenting by the time that you get home. That's an awesome thing to do. And, please don't feel like you have to start all over from day one or anything, just cause you had that frozen coffee thing. Pick yourself up right from where you are right now, and go on from there. And try to stay on track just like you have been, and you probably won't even notice it on the scale at weigh in time. Good luck to you, you will do this. It's a lifelong thing. I feel so good after being on this for 4 weeks now. My body is feeling so good on the inside, as well as on the outside. Keep striving for your goal!

thanks lisa! and everyone, for information and support today, I really appreciate it all. I never really did journal what I ate today so here goes, including the KILLER COFFEE this afternoon lol
AM - Mock cinnabon
AM S - one low carb wheat wrap (6 net carbs) with lettuce, a piece of diet swiss and some avocado.
Lunch - some mexican seasoned chicken (Old Elpaso in a tub, I thought it would be nice and easy to heat in the micro at work, but it tasted AWFUL, I would not buy it again and do not reccomend it) on lettuce with some lite sour cream and diet cheddar crumbles on top.
PM S - None Oh wait...THAT KILLER ICED COFFEE
Supper - 2 lite turkey hot dogs with a little chili sauce on them and 1 oz of diet cheddar melted and saurkraut (small amount) one cup of low carb milk (3 net carbs per 8 oz and taste yummmmy)
PM S - cup of sugar free jello with scoop of cool whip (is that ok? cool whip? its like 1 or 2 carbs per 2 TBSP)
Lots of water during day.
