I guess expectations are lower because I'm a guy. Nobody looks at me funny for a little stubble! |

I understand why you're very quick to pull the "spam" trigger. I run several busy message boards myself (including two "big boards) and spam is definitely a problem.
However, my post here is not spam. And the links were simply in my signature and have nothing to do with the topic. If links in signatures are not allowed, please have an administrator or moderator say so and I'll remove them. I noticed that "BBCode" was allowed when I signed up, so I linked to a couple of my sites..
At any cost... Why such disinterest in HRT? For women, it has many legitimate uses besides simply fat reduction. HRT is used for relief from menopausal symptoms (hot flashes, irregular menstruation, fat redistribution etc.) and as a treatment to reduce the risk of osteopenia leading to osteoporosis. Younger women with premature ovarian failure or surgical menopause may use hormone replacement therapy for many years, until the age that natural menopause would be expected to occur.
For men, it cures sexual disfunction (which "function" almost entirely relies on testosterone production) with age. Most of the time there's no need for drugs like Viagra and Cialis when proper hormone levels are restored..
This is a valid discussion but if everyone would rather look the other way, that's fine. You can do a search on my username and find that I've never spammed a message board in my life. I was drawn to this forum as I was looking for discussion on weight loss and thought I'd post my first message in regards to something maybe many of you have never considered...
You won't find this posted by me anywhere else... |

| I think most people would solicit advice on a topic such as this from their personal physician, rather than on the 'net, is all. |

I don't disagree but the initial thought has to come from somewhere. If nobody ever told you about a diet (and being overweight wasn't such a problem) you may have never considered cutting out certain foods and/or exercising to beginwith..
All I'm talking about is the idea that it could help those who have a harder time losing weight than others. People sometimes wonder why one person can do so well on a diet but they, themselves, cannot. Well, here's one reason.
When all is said and done, a person could bring this up to their physician and get their input. More and more doctors are learning about the benefits of restoring hormone levels to what they were when they were younger. People are losing weight, healing from injuries and being protected from sicknesses that our bodies have become too old to do battle with.
We're all going to die someday but what I'm talking about here is a fountain of youth. And it's not B.S. It's real and it's working for everyone who's let onto it.
Yes, there are still many doctors who haven't taken the time to understand this little piece of the puzzle. No, they will not go along with HRT and will give you a list on nonsensical reasons why it's "bad". But over time, more and more doctors DO learn about HRT and they'll all slowly come around at one point or another, or they'll be left in the past... |

Anyway...
Take what I'm saying seriously. Do your own research. Don't listen to "the next guy". Don't even listen to me. Take the time to read about HRT and do a search for your local HRT clinic (often called Life Extension). Besides losing weight, some other benefits are improved lipid profile, regained energy and a more positive outlook on life (cures depression).
Oh, and don't forget to visit my site. www.buymyspecialhrtproductsandmakemerichwhileyouaredoingit.org
J/K :)
OTHERWISE... I can't be the only one here who's had experience with HRT. If I am, well. I guess that's pretty cool because I can answer questions.. But I was hoping to find some people who've had success or at least some experience with it.. I'm curious about how others are doing as well... |

No. Just looking for others who've had some experience with HRT and those who do not know about it... |

That depends entirely on the specific treatment. If a female is given testosterone replacement, she'll gain weight from muscle mass. If given Estrogen, yes - she could gain fat. However, HGH will not promote fat gain at all. It'll promote lean muscle mass gain - and moreso, fatloss... |

See, one of the difficulties you may find here is that many of us much prefer not to put any form of extra crud in our bodies, including HRTs, thank you.
Hmm..does this guy sound familiar? |
