Menopause and SBD

I've been wondering if anyone else might be going through any phase of menopause while on this plan. I've gone back and read some of the old post on this board and have some of my questions answered. I am currently off my HRT for about a month now, after being on it for close to five years. I went into menopause in my mid 40s. The doctors don't seam to have any concreet answers either. Which is pretty frustrating too.
I'm hoping the weight I have gained will come off now. I don't seam to have any bad hot flashes or night sweats like I use to but still have night sweats off and on. I'm hoping that as I loose the weight, I will get past menopause with out any more perscriptions. I haven't turned into a crazy "B" yet either :D
I'm 51 now and it just doesn't seem to be coming off as easily as it use to. I've increased my excercising, omitted bad foods from my diet, drink tons of water. My mind is right, but I think my body is lost and confused
Anyone else going through this too?

About 2 years ago I started having hot flashes every night, began to have trouble sticking to my exercise routine, and got a lovely, brand new blob of fat on my belly. Ever since I began to have hot flashes, it seems like my weight just wants to creep up. After initially losing 30 pounds on SBD, I've found myself gaining & losing the last 10 pounds over and over and over. I really want to shed that 10 permanently, plus 20 more, but it's so frustrating! I do think that menopause is a significant factor in this. I've never used HRT, and don't anticipate trying it, but it's kind of tempting at times just to see if this belly fat would disappear!

I've decided that I'm going to walk for 30-45 minutes each day.

I too, lost 33 lbs on sbd, and have slowly had 20 creep back up on me and have been fighting it to get it off. I am only 40 and had a hysterictomy about 8 years ago now and have been suffering from insonmia, night sweats, and hot flashes, and mood swings over the last month, I've been reading some of the literature on menopause and wasn't too impressed when it said weight gain, (like I need more) I am trying to get rid of the 20 that have come back and would like to lose another 20. It has been hard to get back to eating the same way I was, (I certainly felt better then) and can't seem to get back onto the excercise wagon again. It is wonderful ( to me, sorry for those experiencing the same thing) to see that there are others out there dealing with the same things. Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with some of this?

I'm still having hot flashes and night sweats, not as severely or frequently as a few months ago. I haven't had a period in about 18 months but I could tell my body was still going through it's monthly cycle. Since I've lost almost 25 lbs on SBD, I notice that I am spotting a little bit right at the time it would have been my period. Hoping like crazy that it doesn't come back...

Anyway, I am being pretty successful losing the weight, BUT I am doing 50 to 90 minutes of cardio everday, plus strength training. It's my believe that this is the only thing that will work.
