One user posts two movie titles of movies that have something in common (same director, same theme, same actress, etc., etc.). The next player posts which of the two movies he/she thought was better, then he/she posts two movies to chose from. Then etc., etc.
The only rules is that this is a game. Have fun. People don't all have the same taste in movies so some people may post movies that others aren't familiar with. That's okay. It's a game.
Let's play!
Love Story
or...
A Walk to Remember |

Sorry Jeff ~ Chose those because I thought they would be easy examples :-)
How about:
Arsenic and Old Lace
or
Roman Holiday
PS ~ What do these movies have in common? |

For me it's Arsenic and Old Lace. Even though Cary Grant is a bit over the top at times, he is best in these light/romantic comedies. I have no idea of the connection. I know Capra did A&OL, pretty sure he didn't do Roman Holiday.
Not sure if I told you last time, we saw the stage production with Marion Ross and Jean Stapleton as the sisters.
My movies:
True Grit
or
The Searchers
Which one was the better performance by the Duke? |

Have a great day!! |

| Wally, True Grit is the movie John Wayne won his Oscar for. I thought he had better performances, Sands of Iwo Jima is another one that he could/should have gotten an Oscar for. Lots of good movies with the Duke out there. |

I see now, I missed that last sentence.
I don't know why I never really got into John Wayne, I missed him somewhere, I know my love of Cary Grant came from my grandma and grandpa. I think part of liking Arsenic and Old Lace so much comes from the memories of watching it with them.
Just another side note. |

I'm going to pick True Grit since it's the only one I've seen :-) Let's see, and since you said John Wayne got an Oscar for this one, I'm going to say True Grit was the better performance?
PS ~ On my movies, Cary Grant starred in both of them :-)
My movies:
Tombstone
or
Wyatt Earp |

You get the big hook on that one. Gregory Peck was in Roman Holiday. Just picked that one up from Walmart's bargain bin.
Going to have to think a bit on your two choices. Both well done, but liking the older movies I would go for door 3, Gunfight at OK Corral.
GIve me a few. |

| Crud ~ you're right. Color me embarassed. I'll blame it on lack of sleep. Sounds like a plausible excuse, doesn't it? |

Will give you the excuse this one time.
Had to go back and look at both movies. Overall Tombstone was better but I like Costner's Earp better then Kurt Russell. Val Kilmer played a great Doc Holliday.
My next 2:
Platoon
OR
We Were Soldiers |

I'm going to say We Were Soldiers ~ it made me cry.
As far as Tombstone ~ Val was awesome as Doc and I love, love, love Sam Elliott.
Remember the Titans

Glory Road |

He's all that and a kettle of chips :-) I could happily listen to his voice for the rest of my life. Oh and I love the twinkle in his eye. ::swoon:: |

I so agree! And what about how he tilts his head to the side when he's being cute or charming? I could eat him up! LOVED him in Lifeguard and Mask! |
