I started SBD Sunday - I had recently lost approx 5 lbs just really being good about what I was eating but since Sun. I have lost another 4.5 lbs. I have had some light-headedness, headaches and fatigue, which I did read are all common in P1. Think it is going pretty well.
Start Date 4/25/04
Start Weight 185.
Current 180.5
Goal 140
Just found this site and very excited about it. Seems like alot of support and recipes!!! |

Well it was a tough week and I splurged a little tonight at dinner. I felt like I just NEEDED some potato! Had dinner at a great steakhouse - salad, filet mignon, sauteed shrms, baked sweet potato and a sliver of shiner bock beer bread. I am going into my 2nd week of P1 - hopefully I didnt do too much damage
Love this site - the feedback from other journals and posts is awesome. Definately finding useful info. Good luck to all. |

I found on this site a recipe for mock french toast. the poster said it was more like crepes - I tried it this morning and I have to say it was pretty good. The mixture gave enough to make 2 good size crepes - I couldnt even finish the 2nd one. Saving it for tomorrow's brkfst. In case anyone wants to try it: 1c. lf ricotta, 2 eggs. 2 tsp. vanilla, 2 pkts Splenda, cinnamin to taste. blended together w/ handheld blender, poured batter into skillet. just like pancake wait til it bubbles and then flip over. I found it easier to cut the crepe into 4 sections then turn over. With a little "I cant believe..." it was delicious. Think I might have to get some low-carb syrup!
The sweet potato last night didnt do damage - my weigh in today showed I was back down 1/2lb. :D Total lost 1st week on P1 4 1/2 lbs!! |

| So good to read success stories on this site. I am well on my way into my 2nd week of P1. I am trying to keep focus but my office catered lunch today - baked pototoes with all the fixins - shredded brisket as well. Pretty much everything on the banned list. Will be difficult to watch everyone else enjoy their lunch while I eat, what else?? a freakin' salad!! |

Hi txteekay!
Just keep those pounds you've lost in your mind as you watch everyone else eat. Their lunch can't possibly taste as good as watching the numbers on your scale go down feels!
You're doing great! |

Well I finished P1 and lost 8 lbs from SBD and had another 4 lbs lost just prior to my official start date. Very pleased with my results so far. Plan on proceeding with caution with adding in fruit and grains.
Today our family had a big get together for Mother's Day and of course I splurged big time. After all it is Mother's Day and I figured I deserved it for all the hard work I do between my family, house and job. Think I might need to do P1 for a few more days to correct this day. |

Well yesterday I had my first slice of multi-grain bread toasted with pb on it. Needless to say it was pure heaven! I never thought a piece of bread would taste sooo good.
Made some delicious pork cutlets with brown rice and broccoli last night. The brown rice was good - I really couldnt even tell the difference. I can see never eating white rice again. |

Hey txteekay - thanks for stopping by my journal! :D
You're doing wonderfully! 8 pounds on phase one is great, and the idea of having toast is making my mouth water - must have been the best piece of toast you've ever had! |

Almost done with my first week on P2. Hoping to see that 1-2 lbs that should come off when I weigh in tomorrow. Gotta get used to the smaller decreases.
Made whole wheat pasta tonight. It was twice as expensive as regular spaghetti but it was worth it. The taste was good - could hardly tell the difference once I put tomato sauce and parm cheese on it. |

| Well I am more than a little bummed. My first week on P2 resulted in a gain. I still have the 8 lbs that I lost on P1 off but the few additional that I had lost before I officially started are back :( I have been only adding in one prior banned good carb per day - piece of fruit, slice of bread or serving of whole wheat pasta. I am going to revert back to P1 for a few days and be really stingey on what I allow. Possibly going every other day allowing myself what is now considered a splurge. |

Hi tx!
Gaining must be a huge disappointment to you. But it sounds like you're not giving up, and that's great. Keep a positive attitude and hang in there - if you stick with it the weight will come off and stay off!
Let us know how you're doing soon! |

Thanks plainjane for checking in on me. I am not too discouraged because the inches are still coming off. I have lost 2" from my waist and 2" from hips so that is encouraging. I am trying to add in 1 or 2 good carbs each day. We'll see what the scale says this Sunday.
Thanks again - hope you are doing well too. |

| That's great tx - 2 inches is wonderful - your clothes must be starting to fall off of you! Hope the scale brings you good news, but even if it doesn't you're still doing great! |

| I have been doing pretty good. The scale seems to be fluctuating anywhere frm 1-3 lbs but generally have not seen a loss since my initial drop. Waist and hip measurements are going down so that alone is keeping me on track as well as knowing there are people checking my journal! |
