Hi
I've been pretty stressed out letely too, a lto of work, work lunch, business dinner, so I haven't been able to keep track of the aclories, but I have recorded it, it shouldn't be that bad. On top of that we are in negotiations for a condo and my TOM has just arrived.
I've been working out, but not as much as I should for the challenge, I still have 3 cradios left, I think I may fit 2 between today and tomorrow, maybe I can double it up tomorrow. In any case my life is kind of crazy right now. Back to counting calories today.
hope everybody has a good weekend. |

Decided to copy from my journal since I'm not very consistent with posting here. Sorry to you all, I am here and just doing my thing. I hope everyone else is doing well. Here is where I'm at today:
Twice a year we host a breakfast at our house and I always make sticky buns (for DH, who previously only got them on Christmas morning, but I'm a softy). We never have SB friendly foods except for the egg casserole which I make and is really good. Usually more people come, but I must have not gotten the word out well enough (or I did it too early and they forgot). So there wasn't a big selection of food and I ate more sticky buns and fruit pizza than planned. Anyway, I feel gross, and will definitely eat something healthy for dinner. I just have to decide what to make....hmmmm....
I always have a hard time getting all my water in on Sundays because I don't exercise on Sundays (where I will always drink at least 24 oz. during my workout). So I guess I'll keep chugging....gulp...gulp.... |

| My workouts have gone to the wayside the last two days. My TOM cramps have been horrible and I've been mostly on the couch with ibuprofen and a heating pad. It's a little better today, so I am going to take the doggie on a nice,long, walk. BUt I did cook a breakfast quiche and flaxseed muffins to prep for the upcoming week! :) |

Kirian, glad you are feelign better!!
My TOM threw my out this weekend as well, I wa splanning to double up the cardio yesterday and I only could walk a litlle, on top of that I devoured half a pizza and a cookie. I also overdid it with the wine staurday night. Glad there's no points for not eating on ther beach, so I only lost the point for the cardio I missed.
Well, this is a new week, so I am starting over, I'll try to be good this week. |

| Me, too! My mom was visiting this weekend and I made a SBD style dinner, but she brought cupcakes! Gotta love moms! I have 7 1/2 weeks to get my 'Vegas body' ready!!! I have a red cocktail dress that is a size 10 that is to die for! I really really want to wear it in Vegas. I think I am going to put it on every morning for motivation! |

Hi everyone
Can you beleive we are in week 5???!!
I wanted to post earlier but I was swamped today and I just got home
TMG--I need that last bit of motivation!! I need to stay focused these last 2 weeks of the Extreme Challenge as I also compete in my "Biggest Loser Challenge" at my gym. The dress is a great motivation--I have 2 seriously cute dresses I want to wear on my cruise--so maybe I will take them out and try them on--I am a good 10 pounds from fitting into them safely.
My gym scale was kind--it said 145.6--to be fair, that is NOT what the home scale says and I had just completed a seriously hard work out--but it felt really good to see those low numbers again.
Too funny--I had SB cheesecake bites last nite and DH said..."Are you sure you can eat those?" I just laughed!
Have a great day!

Boy, TOM is really killing my discipline as well! I swear, I can tell I'm going to start when the M&Ms start calling my name . . . now, if only I could learn to ignore that!!! :evil:
I'm going to try to do a Phase 1 or Phase 1.25 today (and maybe for the next day or two) to try to get rid of the cravings before we leave for our trip on Friday morning. I'll never make it through the week if I don't nip it in the bud now!
I can't believe that I just realized that the last week of the challenge includes Easter & Spring Break! :shock: Uh-Oh!! We're leaving for Tennessee on Friday and will be gone all next week. Not only will it be almost impossible to log in and track my eating, but it's gonna be a bear to get in my exercise & eat on plan. DARN! I guess I'll just have to do the best I can, right? And Kirian (or Pookie) -- will it be okay if I record what I'm eating on paper and then transfer it to my diet journal when I return the next Sunday or Monday??
Okay, teamies -- what are your "stay the course" strategies for getting through Easter & Spring Break/vacation if you have any???? I think I need help . . .
I'll check in again later! |

Hi RJS
The "stay the course" for me when I am on vacation is to manage my expectations and get the exercise in somehow. If cardio is something you want to do--take a walk first thing in the morning-a nice brisk pace. Something is better than nothing--even if it is a 10-15 minute walk around the block
Easter brunch IS my planned splurge--not Easter week--That said, my challenge for my splurge is to find that "I am comfortable" not "I am going to explode"
My problem will be--we are going to Easter brunch and 2 days later is my DS 12's birthday--and he wants to go to Outback. I am thinking maybe to order an appetizer and salad instead of an entree--just ideas I am kicking around.
Hope that helps

Hey team! It sure is getting quiet around here. I hope you are all kicking butt!! I am continuing to feel better. Though I had to take some pain pills from some dental work I had done Sunday night and they are just fully wearing off. Man....those things make me feel like a zombie for a day or two after.
Tomorrow is yoga - yay! I really, really love my yoga class.
I hope you all have a terrific Wednesday!
Lupe: Thank you, me too! :D
Sorry to hear that TOM is getting you. I hope it passes soon and that you feel more like yourself!
~~~~~
Tits McGee: Hehe, yeah...gotta love moms. :) Keep going strong hun and you will knock the whole town dead in that dress!
~~~~~
Otter: I know!! Wow...week 5. :shock:
Good idea on getting those dresses out.
Hehe...men...gotta love 'em when they do things like that. :lol:
~~~~~
rsjmommy: Sorry to hear that about TOM. It really can be a bear.
Good luck on doing Phase 1/1.25. Good idea to help you get the cravings under control. How did the first day go?
Yup, do the best you can while you are gone hun. Feel free to record on paper and post when you get back. |
Hi everyone!
TMG~ Thanks for the great idea about hanging the dress up in my room where I can see it!
Yesterday I took out my little black dress (My size 6 sleeveless) to see where I am at and where I need to go.
It fits, but I am still a little lumpy in places I don't want to be lumpy in. I really think if I can get through this month and lose even 5-7 pounds it will look great! On top of that--I am able to get into most of my thin clothes I haven't been able to wear and I have 5 cocktail dresses I will be able to wear on my cruise!!! The dress I tried on is also sleeveless and all this arm work and upper body strength training is starting to show some great results--so I am pretty excited!!!
I have circuit training and strength training today
Hope everyone is great
Otter - You go, girl!!! You are truly amazing! You've been working so hard -- it's great to see it all pay off in small, beautiful clothing, doesn't it?? (of course, I'm still waiting for that myself! :lol: )
Kirian - So glad you're feeling better! I'd love to take a yoga class someday, but I'm totally intimidated!! I've heard it's great for stress relief as well as total body toning. But all the different "kinds" of yoga confuse me. What kind do you do?
As for me, I'm down to 176.5 again this morning :D . That's 15.5 pounds down from my SBD start on 2/5. It's not going as fast as I'd like, but at least it looks like I broke that darn 3-1/2 week stall! Yea! :D
But I'm still VERY nervous about vacation. Not to mention my total lack of time to workout today & tomorrow as I get ready for my trip! :shock: I didn't realize how crazed I'd be getting ready with everything else going on (school commitments, bathroom contractor, getting our "spring" clothes for the kids, etc.). Oh well, I may try to get in today's workout tonight after the kids go to bed, but we'll have to see. That may be the only time I have to go to the store without kids to get "goodies" for Easter. :wink:
Well, have a good day, teamies! |
rsjmommy-15.5 lbs! Great job! That is a significant amount! I am proud of you for sticking with everything even though you have a super busy schedule!
Otter-5-7 lbs is all you need to lose? You can do that standing on your head! :)
Kirian-I love yoga, too. My favorite class is called Cardio-Yo and it mixed up aerobics moves with yoga poses to keep heart rate up. It is rocking!
I have been eating really well the last few days, but I hurt my back at work on Monday and I have to put off working out for a little bit. I am going to try to ride my exercise bike tonight and see how that goes. |
OK Team!!
GIve me a pep talk--
Let me preface I could be PMSing but it is not my TOM till next week.
I have been watching my food like a hawk and my ususally very kind gym scale has me up almost 3 lbs since Monday--and this is after 3 seriously hard days of working out.
Could it be my body is catching up for the wings and too much party food I ate on Friday and Saturday?? :twisted:
I want to stay focused this entire month past the Extreme Challenge but I am concerned I could blow everything so close to my goal weight.
And now I am starting to re-consider my Easter Brunch splurge decision. Well maybe the challenge will be to eat only one portion EVEN though it is a buffet!!
Help! Having a moment of weakness!!
Okay, Otter -- YOU CAN DO IT!!! You have done so well up to this point. Don't give up now!
Maybe the three pounds is just your body retaining water after your intense workouts this week. Or maybe TOM is coming a little early (I know mine did this month - yuck!). Or maybe it's just the freakin' scale doing what it does best -- messing with our heads! :evil: Either way, just brush it off & know that it's JUST a number and means nothing!
Now, close your eyes, take a deep breath . . . and picture yourself in those slinky cocktail dresses on your cruise. You're feeling strong, fit & confident, you're looking HOT, and DH is glowing with pride to have you by his side! :D Now ... isn't that feeling is worth so much more than having a "splurge" or giving up this week?! :wink:
Hang in there, Otter! You WILL succeed!!! (That goes for the rest of my teammates too! :) ) |
