Pookie and I were posting at the same time, so I thought I'd re-post this in MY team's thread. :D
Re-post:
Guys, I am ready! I am so very ready!! I am even thinking of giving up dark chocolate for the duration of the challenge! I'm think of eating perfectly beachy, with only one night a week of any red meat and adding more fish! I eat very beachy now, and we've never eaten a lot of red meat, but I can certainly tweak the diet to be even better. I want to see where that will get me these next few weeks. I think it's one thing to push yourself and think it's forever. I think it's another to know you are pushing yourself for a set time. So in the spirit of the challenge, I'm going to go really extreme with myself!
And tonight I'm having pizza for dinner. Don't worry! I'll have 2-3 itty bitty pieces. It's one of those pizzas that are sliced into a million little squares. And I'll have a large salad, maybe with some pepper flakes to spice it up like the pizza. We have some friends that paid for pizza about a month ago and we never paid them back! I feel bad, so tonight we are treating. My point is...once the challenge starts Monday, there will be none of that, even though I feel like that is ok once in a while...way-of-life and all that. But FOR THIS CHALLENGE...I will be as close to picture-perfect beachy as possible.
I am pumped!! Of course I am currently coming off my ball class high. LOL! What a workout this morning! I was begging for some stretch time in the end. And so was everyone else!! I'm just proud of myself for being able to do everything now. Well, except for the stretches. I swear, just sitting with my legs in front of me is stretching. Sheesh. Forget bending over to touch my toes. All I need to do to feel it is straighten my legs. My legs do not like to be straight. But now, the butterfly, with the feet together and the heels coming in toward the crotch...that one I am better at than the instructor! My knees like to be bent! |

Hi everyone!!
I am looking forward to this challenge--it is going to get me closer to going on my cruise and the much needed jump start for summer!!
I am finishing up the last day of the Feb challenge today and I am proud to say I stuck with it the enitre month!! It was probably alot easier for me b/c DH is not here and the temptation to eat drink and be merry isn't as strong when he is away!
Glad to see some familiar faces (Cyster) and some new faces too(Kirian). I think this is a win-win for all the folks who stick with it--regardless of which team wins.
Funny story... at my circuit training class--some people are starting to look at me as a "regular" and 2 ladies told me they were taking their cardio paces off of me--so that made me feel pretty good.
I know I can finish the 6 weeks I just need to make sure I am pushing myself every time I exercise--not just going through the motions
Well I am going to start strethcing myself out and get ready for Monday
I will post my food and water in my daily journal and I will even break out my cookbook for recipes
Take care

I just had some chinese, not that good I know
I really just want to get back on track with eating healthy and doing tons of cardio. I need the energy, but I don't want to loose many inches,
totally not ready to give uo chocolate or wine though, although I plan to do it in moderation. I need to eat more protein, defintely
Go Team!!! we are going to beat those pookies!!! |

Good morning! Today is my day off, but I am so ready to go!!
I haven't made much progress in the past month! :? February was pretty much a bust. I suppose I need to remember that A) I injured myself and was out of comission for a week and then B) I got sick and was out of comission for 3 days. But still...I started out at 185 and today I'm 186. :? Not too worried about that though because I have MOSTLY lost inches. I also gained 1/2 inch here and there. MOSTLY though, I have lost inches and my jeans fit quite a bit better!
But it's time to get serious! I induldged in a hot fudge Sundae last night. It was totally planned for and I kept it small, so I do not feel guilty about that. I do feel guilty about the 3 bites of corn casserole I had. I did NOT plan for that and had originally said I wasn't going to have any. And frankly, it wasn't that good! The sundae on the other hand....delicious!
So, I'm getting serious! My thighs are sore from my ball class yesterday and it feels great! :D |

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to say hi! I am ready than ever to get this challenge going. I went shopping yesterday and have all my food planned out. Currently I am on phase 2 obviously by my ticker, and I try to eat 2 grains and 2 fruits a day. I was eating dessert every night but plan to cut that out while on this challenge. I did get sugar free jello at the store just in case. I am going to eat my grains at breakfast and lunch because usually if I do eat them at dinner it makes me crave dessert. I have been really good with getting all my water in. Like alot of people the weekends are the tricky part but I am so determined to keep myself on track. I do cardio M-F, currently I am on the couch to 5k-starting week 5 this week. M,W,F I do my strength training, with stretching after every day. I post in my journal nearly every day and at the least its always my menu. Lastly the recipe, thats a breeze I am usually good at trying new things and constantly watch the Food Network. I try to adapt any recipe into a beachy recipe. Alright guys thats me! I am excited and know this will be the challenge I need to get all hyped again. I am thinking of entering a 5K at the end of april and would love to be able to run the whole thing.
Ready to take it to the extreme!!! :D   |

Hi Amity
If you really like having dessert maybe there's no need to cut it out, so you won't feel like you are depriving yourself. When I was on phase 1 & 2, the vanilla ricotta cream dessert from the SB book was god sent, it kept me full and crunched those after dinner munchies, tons of protein and really creamy. Same goes for the SB peanut butter cookies, just 2, but they are delicious.
Just a suggestion if you ever feel like you may need a dessert, so you can pick one that is good for you and phase 2 aproved. Is good to have a backup plan just in case.
I do need help with the recipe part, I just don't cook that much just toss some healthy stuff toghether like a salad, some frozen stuff or protein bars, don't have a lot of time, I am working on my PhD, studying for my Pilates certification and teaching classes at the gym.
so if anyone has some good recipes (30 min or less) I'll love to hear. I picked one from this month's SELF magazine that sounds good, I have to go food shopping today !!! |

Hey All,
I'm getting pumped up for tomorrow. This past week I added strength training into my workouts so my body is not in complete shock this coming week. My tush hurts a lot...yipppeeee! I realized I am stronger than I thought and need to bump up the upper body workout...whoo hoo! Tomorrow, I'm gonna kick it up a notch! I already do 30 minutes of walking M-F (that's where I'm at). I'd like to eventually start running again. I used to be very active, rowing, running, biking, but I had a downward spiral in the middle of college and still haven't gotten out of this funk (8 years later). It's very hard to go from running 6 miles a day to walking 30 minutes. Mentally, I think I'm not really working out if I'm not at the level I used to be. It's taken me awhile to remember that I didn't just start running 6 miles a day back then, I worked up to that and I can do it again. I just have to start and COMMIT to it. That's my biggest problem. I'm hoping by having you guys around it'll help me stay focused and committed.
I'm ready to go EXTREME!!! |

I'm going to be pretty hardcore this week. I'm going suit shopping in just two weeks (for interviewing, not swimming thank god!), and I'd like to not have to buy a size up from what I normally wear. This extreme challenge is going to be so great! |

I should have mentioned the Samoas and Tagalongs, but they are all gone now. Seriously, my dh and I ate the whole box. I don't feel the least bit guilty after the week I've had, and the knowledge that I'm going hardcore tomorrow. Yeah! |
