JBell30 an overweight Paramedic

You'd think a Paramedic, a health care provider would be conscious about their health since we see everyday the effects of not taking care of your self. In all actuality we are probably the worst ones. I was just diagnosed with hypertension and I am pretty sure I am pre-diabetic since it runs heavy in my family. I weigh 324 pounds and I am 6ft, I hide my weight well but it is starting to cause me problems. I have a new baby and I have decided I want to be around to see my grandchildren. I never exercise and am pretty lazy, not too comfortable with me being a paramedic huh! well neither am I. I need help here guy's and I plan on taking this for the long ride. I have just begun the diet and I am on my 2nd day and I am miserable, the only thing that keeps me going is the thought that it will be over soon and I can hopefully get back to some decent eating. Anybody have any suggestions I am more than willing to listen.....Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hang in there and just take it literally hour by hour. one day turns into two and then so on. i am in P1 day 6 - just found this website and very excited about it. think it is a great place for support!

Drink the water, Drink the water, Drink the water
Don't worry about the long haul; just take it one meal/snack at a time.
Don't starve yourself. Eat lots of salad and veggies on phase 1
And visit these boards; there are a group of both men and women who are honest, helpful, and encouraging!
Monday will be 2 weeks for me on phase 1, and I do feel better!

Well I am beginning week 2 of phase 1 tomorrow. I weighed my self and I have not lost anything, kinda bummed about it but I am still sticking with it.
